So it is VERY likely I have endo. I'm going to my dr next month to make a plan.

My husband just got a new job I'm trying to decide if I should switch insurance. He currently has VA benefits. So I'm assuming infertility isn't covered.

I have decent insurance but infertility may not be covered. It could be but they don't know until after the fact.

What should I look for in the new insurance coverage to help treat the endo?

Anyone have successful endo treatments?
Thanks,
Erin

Just found out I may have endo. I find out Monday whether my insurance will cover lapro surgery or not.

Have you tried diet changes at all? I've seen improvement but my symptoms flare when I cheat. Jan 1st I've decided I'm going all out no dairy, gluten, soy, sugar and less animal meat. (The sugar will take a while to decrease but I WILL do it!). I'm hoping if I do it 100% I might be able to avoid a lapro (but I'm kind of doubting it as I'm seeing how bad it affects me. I have all common symptoms and rare ones too!)

I'm leaning towards DH new insurance. Just incase because I'm guessing it will include more for both of us. (Granted it will be double the cost!)

We were married in Aug 08. We've never used any BC so we were NTNP until about April 2010 when we started TTC. So about 3.5yrs. But We have also taken a few short breaks because of a family crisis and just for mental health.

Dr. Hasn't given the official diagnosis but after my additional research I agree with her it's most likely endo. I wouldn't be surprised if I have pcos or fibroids too. DH I also suspect has issues too. These are things we are going to start looking at in Jan (I hope).

What are your symptoms bc a lot of the symptoms i read about I don't have them...

Warning could be TMI:
Very severe cramping
constipation before AF
the first 2 days of AF lots of loose stool, very painful
Very large clots (quarter size on average)
Hormone imbalances (low progesterone)
Pain during DTD
Bartholian Cysts (I think at least, rare symptom but when it happens most often associated with endo)

The Specialist from Dallas says that he thinks I have that, but I dont have those type of symptomsor the ones online. My cycle comes every 31-32 days, I don't have pains with my stomach all the time, I do have heavy periods the first day or two, but nothing else besides that. He thinks maybe it is blocking the passage ways to my tubes.... I am really scared about the laproscopic surgery... IDK if I want to go through it or not...

I'm praying I won't need the surgery as I know we might not be able to afford it for a while. I'll learn more the 10th.

I had a lap surgery done and just found out I am pregnant my very first month ovulating after the surgery with no assistance, not even ovulation strips. Had previously been npnt for about 18 months. I am in my 30's and this is my first bfp. I had gone in to the gynecologist for severe bloating, cramping, heavy periods, and was sent for an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed several large ovarian tumors, which at the time the concern was that they could be cancer. During the removal surgery these were found to be blood filled endometriomas. The gynecological surgeon told me afterwards I only had a 40% chance of ever conceiving and here I am. I'm still in shock.

That gives us some hope then!

Did you do any diet changes? Ever have any symptoms? I get very large clots so I'm concerned I may also have cysts. I'm just don't see being able to afford the surgery. Ugh!

I had heavy periods with large clots before my lap surgery. No diet changes, but I normally eat fairly healthy and am in decent shape. I honestly expected it to take a while to get pregnant, if I ever actually DID. Was in total shock when I tested and it took three positive tests before I actually believed it. Prior to my lap surgery, I knew something was wrong as it seemed extremely unlikely that I would have not gotten pregnant at some point. Until my diagnosis with endometriosis during the lap surgery, I just didn't know what it was. It was super stressful at the time, but now I am so glad I had the surgery and that everything happened the way that it did. I believe lap surgeries are not necessarily related to TTC (mine initially wasn't) and are usually covered by medical insurance if you have it. I always thought my heavy periods were just normal, but they were a symptom of a much more serious problem.

I have endo and fibroids and cysts, and I get all the symptoms mentioned previously. I had a lap to remove all my fibroids, endo and cysts, and since then (Aug 2013) I have been TTC and had two MCs and still trying!

Jumpnjax-How was the surgery? Did it hurt you? And what CD did you have the surgery on?

I have severe stage 4 endo and had lap in July. My insurance does not cover fertility but if your doc suspects endo it's not considered a fertility treatment.

If you have it done you are more fertile afterwards

Just wanted to tell my story, so people see there is hope. Had a very bad year early 2011 health wise, several stints in hospital with undiagnosed severe stomach pains and bleeding. Then another stint where they found I had cysts on my ovaries. Another month or so of unexplained pain, and I finally got the doc to agree to do a lap. I was diagnosed with Endo and told I had only a small chance of conceiving, but to try before they would consider IVF. 4 months after the lap we were pregnant! And we had a healthy girl in Aug 2012. Over the last year the Endo pains have been coming back and getting worse and worse and I've been considering seeing the doc for another lap. Then all of a sudden we found out last week I'm pregnant again! Not planned at all, so a complete blessing (and shock considering my chances of conceiving on my own should be about zero). I'm almost 7 weeks, so early days but hoping all goes well this time too.
I wish the rest of you luck in TTC and with your pregnancies :-)

That gives me hope. My dr office called me yesterday and they have to do the prequal first but hopefully by next week I will have my date that I will get my surgery done. .. IF I didn't catch it this month!!! I pray it'll happen soon. It is very stressful.

I've had two docs think its endo, no cysts ultrasounds were coming back great! She thought maybe endo is scarring my tubes TTC for 3yrs. Had an hsg which showed no blockage in tubes but there was polyp in my endo lining so I had a hysterscopy, DNC, pectomy to remove it. She told me at my post op I had a part heart shaped uterus and that there was no endo scarring on inside but that the polyp was not a polyp they removed it but had it sent off an they have no clue what it was! My 1st period following was again horribly painful if it continues I'm going to ask for lap I think its growing on outside of uterus

Babyvaughan do you have any other symptoms? How are hormones?
Did they think pcos?

I do remember there was something about my uterus or cervix that was abnormal as well but can't remember what it was.

Blackbarbie- have you heard anything yet?

I do in Friday, hopefully for a plan.

Baby dust to all!

Rahsodi I go tomorrow to find out when my lap will be. My Doc has agreed to do it and if Im not mistaking, it has to be done durin CD6-10 so AF is due on the 14th of this month so maybe in two to three weeks I am guessing... I am excited but nervous at the same time. I know the other doc wants to start injectibles next cycle so IDK... Hopefully I will find out everything tomorrow. I will for sure keep you updated. I don't think I'll get too much out of this cycle. Temped this morning just for the heck of it and my temp was 97.74 so just waiting on AF and I actually didn't take my femara this cycle I took my fertilaid. Ifind out tomorrow whether I ovulated off of it or not. If not I know that the Doc will boost up my mg and the other doc may start me on injectibles. Is there a waiting period after a lap that you have to wait to ttc again or can you try that same cycle? I may ask Dr. J tomorrow. I need to start my list now....

I know that was long, but I am nervous yet excited at the same time!!!!!!!!
