Just wondering who else does this and how you are going with it? As in, are you being successful?

I start work in January. DS will be 4.5 months and has been EBF.

I want to keep on breastfeeding, and pump 2-3 times at work each day. Anyone else able to do this?

How old is your baby? How much do you send at daycare?

Thanks

I pumped twice a day when returned to work when LO was 8.5 months. It worked best for me around work and maintained supply. Didn't send any to daycare as LO refused expressed milk!

Hi Ladies,

Although I'm in the UK I did manage to express and work. Over here they have to let you by law. I'm not sure of the US laws but otherwise it did work and my LO was exclusively BF for 19 months. Hope this helps and good luck xxx

Thanks ladies! Ive been working two weeks and it is going great. I pump three time a day, and only twice on Fridays.

I usually pump 3-4oz at a time. If I need more I can pump in the morning before work, or when I get home.

I pump 3 times a day. Once b4 I leave for work once while there and once when I get home. I only work 3day a week and the days I don't work she still takes boob no problem. I went back 2 work at 9 months and she's now nearly 13 months. While I at work she has a sippy cup. I normally leave between 4-6oz but she only misses out on one feed cause I only work 5 hours. And she doesn't normally drink it all

I returned this week, so its early day. my son is 8.5 months. I work mon, tues, thurs, fri but work from home fri. I feed him before I go to work but he doesn't take much. I send approx 100 ml expressed milk to nursery with him and he has 1 bottle in the morning but doesn't take much of that. He has 50 to 80 ml in afternoon. I don't pump at work as i can't be bothered to be honest and my supply is generally v good. If it dwindled i would send formula in cartons if i had to but i would rather avoid that. I feed him when I am home around 5:30 and express then if i have time too. He then feeds then at 7Ish before bed. He normally wakes once or twice for a feed. Tomorrow I will work from home but without him so will try and pump to get some in the freezer for next week. Finding it hard thinking about all this plus working but will see how it goes.

I returned to work when my son was 13 weeks old. I pump once in the morning and twice while at work. I send him to daycare with four, 4oz bottles but most of the time he only drinks 3 bottles and I feed him right when I get there.

I usually pump in the morning right after his last feeding and get between 4-6oz
then twice at work and get about 4-5oz

I just returned to work last week. So I hope things continue okay. I do feel like my supply is already dropping so I've started to take Fenugreek and thinking of adding another pump session in while at work.

I pumped at work for a year. I would pump in the morning before the baby woke up, as the baby is better at getting the milk out then the pump. I would pump once in the morning and once on a late lunch break. Sometimes I would pump before bed if I felt I needed more. I sent quite a lot of milk with my daughter to daycare- 3-4 4oz bottles. After she turned one year I cut the morning at work pumping but continued the rest.

At each pump session I tied to get between 4 and 8 ounces. I had quite a stash of extra milk, but I had a high Lipase content so my milk didn't last as long as I would have liked.

I have the lipase issue too..with my first I had a whole small deep freezer full of milk that had to be thrown away because my son wouldn't drink it. I did a lot of research and found that if you scold the milk before freezing it, it solves this problem. Let me know if you want more info on this!

I did the scalding thing too- more for me then my dd, since she never seemed to mind. That was a few years ago, and my second daughter never had to have much bottle breast milk since I stayed home from work after she was born. What a pain in the butt that was!
