Anyones midwife NOT listen to HB at 16weeks!!!

I didnt even get an appoitment with mw until i was 24 weeks in my area, they say theres not much they can check up on at 16 weeks and that the HB cant always be found. :S

I don't have a midwife appointment now until I'm 18 weeks but at a recent doctors appointment my GP told me that they don't try to listen for baby's heartbeat until at least 20 weeks.

She told me that this is because it's difficult to find it earlier on and in their experience trying and failing to find a heartbeat just causes unnecessary anxiety for mom.

It would have been nice if your midwife just told you that though - a little reassurance goes such a long way.
