Ladies, does anyone know if there is something else I can take to make me ovulate or help me, Im on my 4th round with Clomid, first 2 didnt work, increased the dose to 150mg for 3rd and 4th, Im presuming I didnt on the 3rd either as my period arrived which is why Im on my 5th day of taking it again!!!! I was told IUI would not work with me and IVF may be the route, if we were loaded that would be fantastic but like most of you we are not so Im not sure we will be able to do it. Im 42 now and exhausing every last avenue I guess!!!!

Sorry hun I have no words of wisdom but didnt want to read and run. Its good they have upped your clomid dose though, keep with it im sure it will work. Are you on clomid as you dont Ov??

There is another drug called Letrozole which is supposed to help with ovulation. I have read that it often works for women who don't respond well to clomid. It has less side effects and only stimulates one or two large follicles. It is a drug that is usually used for breast cancer patients but is becoming more widely used for infertility. I am currently on my first cycle of letrozole and I had two large follies develop. I don't know if I am BFP but it did exactly what it was supposed to do this month!

However, there is another poster (Jess) on our board taking it and she did not respond as well to it. I guess it is different for everyone. But it might be worth doing some research and asking your doctor about it!

I'm the other person that Deeni mentioned. I've been on letrozole for two cycles now (2.5mg and then 5mg) and have not ovulated yet. The weird thing is that I did ovulate before, so it's actually suppressed ovulation for me.

There is lots of stuff to read about it on the internet. Wonderful studies. There's also a great article that I posted in my journal (link in siggy -- it's a few pages back) that talks about the comparisons between letrozole and clomid.

Good luck!

Just wanted to say good luck for this round... also wanted to send some positive :dust: as I got pregnant on my 7th round of Clomid which at the time I felt like it was never going to happen and just as I was starting to give up my little miracle arrived.

That round, we bd'd every other day from cd9 to cd25 and I lay on my back holding my legs in the air for about 5 mins afterwards - not very flattering or graceful I know but anything is worth a try when you want it so much.

Good luck! :hugs:

Thanks, Chellebelle. I needed to read this! This month is my first on letrozole and I just got a BFN. I was so hoping that this month was it because everything happened exactly as it should have. But I am on to month 2 of letrozole, month 15 of TTC. Anyway, much thanks because I needed some hope.

Hi, Im not sure if this is something that could help, or would be prescribed. But I have PCOS and didnt ovulate for months, then I had Chlomid and had DS, and after him my periods didnt return so I went on Metformin. This actually helped me ovulate and got my periods back!!

Maybe its worth asking your dr about?

You will get there - just keep trying! I spent many months being so sure I had conceived as everything seemed to go perfectly... and I felt so deflated when I got that BFN - but the month that I got my BFP I was really not expecting it... I only did a test because I was a test junkie by then and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that BFP.

I know it is different for different people, but I believe one of the keys is to keep relaxed, don't give up hope and try not to let it take over your life. I am glad I helped a little... I know I used to feed off success stories so it's good that I can help others with it.

:dust: to you all! x

Hello, im new to this site and not really sure who i am replying to!

I have had PCOS for eight years and im on my third cycle of clomid. I was given Metformin as a way to loose weight and increase chance of ovulation but it just gave me the runs! So a month later they took me of it and a year later i finally got given clomid.

I am very happy (and jealous!!) for all of you who have been blessed with wee ones and wish all of you who have not yet all the luck in the world xx

Chellebelle...totally random but Simeon is an AWESOME name and what a handsome chap he is

Goodluck with the clomid hun xx

I just wanted to bump this up.
I am on Femara (letrozole) and really like it. You get lots of EWCM and feel a very strong O.
It leaves your body faster than Clomid - so no unpleasant side effects in the TWW.

Maybe you should try some acupuncture - Im currently getting it done and its very relaxing. Ive read that it can help women over 40 to get pregnant by regulating their hormones etc - it might be worth a try. It works well with Western Medicine so could make the clomid work better for you.

There is a very good book called the Infertility Cure by Radine Lewis (its on Amazon) and its very insightful - might help you get your BFP - im hoping it helps me get mine!
