I have changed from normal apatamil to the comfort, my daughter had trouble with passing no. 2 and farting a lot, she is a content baby but struggled with those 2 problems
Has any one had a positive out come using comfort for this problem?
Also I'm finding she is slower at feeding with it, Im wondering even thou I've just started this have I done the right thing to change

You may be finding her slow to feed with it as its thicker, it's recommended to use a medium or fast flow teat with it, or we use a variflow teat with it.

We use it due to reflux, and constipation caused by the meds she's on for this, so a different situation really. We have found that by using it, it has kept her moving her bowels about once a day, whereas before she was going once a week....and it was hard and she was bleeding from her bum, this has resolved with the comfort milk.

Technically it should only be used under the advice of gp/paediatrician. maybe you could have a word with oe of them?

Did you try lots of tummy massage? That really helped our lo in times of poo trouble!

I'm using cow and gate comfort (which is pretty much the same) as my son has colic and constipation issues. I started a week ago and it has really helped for both with him. Be warned though, it does change their poo, it can be fairly runny and green/black (and very smelly). But I would take that any day over an upset baby. The milk is thicker so have you checked that the much is coming out of the teats? I still get good flow with my Nuk bottles but I think some bottles it is better with a variflow or number 2 teat.

When you say she is slower with feeding have you already changed to a bigger teat size? Its thicker and theres a warning thing on there saying you will need to go up to a bigger size, otherwise its reeeeally hard for your LO to get out.

I used it for my DS for the same reason as you and it worked WONDERS! Literally saw a change in him within a couple of days! I know it doesnt always work for everyone because i read a lot of threads about it when i made the switch, but i would at least use up the formula you do have to see if you notice a change and then decide what you think is best :)

There are lots of other ways to try and help with constipation so maybe if the change in formula isnt doing anything you could try some other methods? I cant remember off the top of my head as its been so long but if you search on here you should find some :)

I've not changed the teat size.. My health visitor recommended this feed, but I'm feeling doubtful now, she wasn't in any distress with the other feed just uncomfortable with no2 and farting a lot.
I thinking I should put her back on the normal apatamil.
I don't want to upset her even more

Maybe you could get a bigger teat just to see if shes upset at frustration of not being able to get it out easily?

Otherwise it might be because shes used to the normal aptamil taste so is being fussy about a change?

Im not really sure what to suggest, its so hard trying to decide whats best for our LO's isnt it :dohh:

It's the hardest thing ever doing what's right... Totally with u on that one. She is very unsettled more on this formula, I think I'm happy with the original.
I feel so bad messing her about :(
Thanks for the reply xx

My baby is like this.. she won't poo and cries because she's in pain from trying.
I have the Aptamil Colic & Constipation but I now have to use Gripe Water in the hope her farting for England will make her bowels move.

I only tried that milk once and it made my LO really sick (more than usual if you see my thread lol) but it was thick like cottage cheese and it just came straight back up, the whole lot I reckon, ugh
