April Mummies 2011

I just use a toothbrush from an early age to get them used to it.

Dana- I never went to fashion week but would've loved to see what was set to be the fashion for the upcoming months! Everyones so skinny though! I have the height, but not the figure lol!

Riri- zyes they can go off it if they are teething x

Amelia doesn't sit up well even with support or roll that much. She does a nice scream though- I have a cliP kn Facebook of her screaming at her doll!

Haha aww well Im glad its not just ollie then. I didnt know it was normal or not with never really being around babies before ollie xD

Oh found out that another of my cousins gf is pregnant (2 months gone) sooo now ollie will have someone to play with when he/she is born! :D Well 2 because 2 of my cousins are parents-to-be!
Looks like Ive started a chain reaction in my family because we had no babies this time last year and then I had one and now theyre all popping them out haha! xD

gem totally normal for them to squeel! gosh sometimes it really hurts my eardrums hehe

thankfully we seem to be over the worse of our colds. Alex has made a remarkable recovery! still a bit grouchy but his snotty nose has virtually vanished and he's generally much brighter. He even only woke twice last night! (our best night in ages!).

strange boy seems to prefer his food cold though, offered him potato, baby rice and milk nice and warm earlier and he had a right paddy so i gave up. Decided to try again only about 30mins later and he ate it all up, by then it was room temp, how odd! lol. hoping we have a good night again cos i could do with the sleep as still not feeling fab! xx

aw my friends just had a baby boy :D, gives me a tingley feeling taking me right back to that time! her 3rd boy though! gonna have her hands full! the oldest is only 4!

aww congrats to your friend caro, sounds like me with the age gaps :haha: x

abby just sat up on her own! yea on the couch but one minute she's in her boppy, next minute she's sitting up watching me on the computer LOL :yipee:

Btw Amelia still lunges forward when sitting LOL! Interesting comparing my two as babies, as by now Jake was sitting supported and almost unaided, and was reaching for toys quite well but not really vocal or babbling. Whereas Amelia is ore mobile on her belly, tries going on all fours, but only just started grabbing toys and screams and babbles like mad!

Also she has a tooth cutting at 5 months whereas Jake was 8 months :)

Ah his appointment for the Dentist got cancelled so had to reschedule for tomorrow - wish me luck, he HATES opening his mouth for me to check his teeth let alone a strange dentist! Probably end up screaming the place down LOL!

Aleena can sit forever as long as there's a toy she likes in front of her on the ground!
She can sit like this for a long time (pic from today)

Rosie sits unaided for quite a while these days. So happy Abby sat today!!!!

Danielle, she sucks on her thumb (sort of) and anything that's near her, but nothing seems to soothe her and she won't take a pacifier. In fact everything that goes in her mouth except the breast seems to overstimulate and frustrate her. So glad to hear you've had some great nights with Isis and her sleeping!! LOVE her fall pictures, she has the same hair as Lizzie!! They turned out great and hopefully she's forgotten all about the little bump on the head.

Loopy, I'm so sorry your parents are being like that. :hugs:

Thanks for all the tips on how you help put baby to sleep, I'm definitely going to be trying them out to see what works best for Lizzie. Big fail last night and tonight she fell deep asleep while nursing so I didn't get a chance to try.

So glad to hear that Jake is enjoying preschool!

Dana, one day Lizzie just surprised me by sitting up on her own. I was changing her and sometimes would sit her up but would always put her hands in front of her to stabilize her, well one day I didn't do that and she was just sitting there looking at me like "what? I do this all the time Mom!" Oh and Lizzie doesn't roll over much either. She can do it, but hardly ever does and only from side to stomach.

We picked up some jarred baby food (carrots, peas, apples, bananas, mangos) because my Mom wanted to try giving her some. She's pretty good with the baby oatmeal now and I know my Mom has fun with it so figured why not. She is definitely more intersted in our food these past 2 weeks. We also picked up those dissolving rice biscuits and she happily made a mess with 2 of them while we were shopping tonight. Can't believe how fast she's growing up! I see her sitting up playing and think where did my little baby go!

Sam, glad to hear that FOB is stepping up and that you're able to enjoy his company. Hope it continues and he really does make some permanent changes for you and Rosie.

Choco and Caro, so glad to hear George and Alex are doing better!!

BabyBefore30, sorry your MIL is being such a pain, how petty of her to take it out on her grandson because she had a disagreement with her son.

Lilly, it's funny you say that she's worse than as a newborn because I was just telling DH tonight that if I didn't know better I'd think she's suddenly developed colic at 5 mos! Always needs to be held, doesn't want to play by herself for any length of time, fights sleep, and wakes for reassurance lots more than usual. Just generally seems unhappy and doesn't know what she wants. Even nursing didn't comfort her today and usually that fixes everything. Finally brought out the Tylenol and she had a nice 3 hour nap and woke in a much better mood. We have the same toy that Aleena is playing with in the sitting pic!

Gem, Lizzie loves to scream too, really loud and high pitched when we're out in public and even though she's happy it's so annoying because it disrupts people around us. Glad to hear Ollie will have some buddies to play with soon!!

Another pretty good night! She fell asleep nursing at 6:30 and I didn't realize it was that late. I put her down in her bed. If it was putting her down asleep that was causing all of her wakings then she should wake up in a couple hours. Well sure enough, at 9:30 she woke up crying. So I nursed her to drowsy and put her back down. She slept until 4:45! I was so happy but also so engorged! I think as long as I continue to put her down drowsy we'll have it made! :happydance:
I think the weather will cooperate for more fall pictures this weekend. I think we're going to an apple orchard this weekend so I'll take pictures there. I'll have to bring my props (bushel basket and pumpkins). I'm also going to run to the outlet mall and buy an outfit for the pictures. DH wants to take some black and white shots too. I think we're going to put Isis' crib up this weekend too. I'm also going to rearrange her bedroom a little.

Stacey, I hope you get a chance to try putting her down awake soon. It seems to make all the difference to Isis. I agree! Where did my little baby go! I see the little babies in Isis' classroom and I get a little sad. DH doesn't understand, he loves this stage.
How often do you pump at work? I'm thinking about changing my pumping schedule to pump every 3 hours but I'm worried I won't get as much milk over time. I'm also worried since Isis has started sleeping better that I'll have less milk in the mornings.

Naima, Aleena is so cute in that picture!

Dana, that's how Isis started sitting up! It's amazing to me how fast they go from barely being able to do something to being a master at it.

MissFox, I'm so glad FOB is better. Hopefully he'll keep it up!

Gem, lots of little babies! it'll be nice for Ollie to have kids to play with.

Jakes, good luck at the dentist! It's gotta be fun to see the differences between the 2 kids.

I started brushing georges teeth the day after they were there! he loves his toothbrush!

xx

Ollie still has no teeth lol. feel like hes gonna be gummy forever.
hes trying to pick my netbook up as im typing so sorr for any typos!
he can also sit unaided for a long tije now.
ugh just got puked on.

Hope the netbook was spared Gem!

Danielle, I pump 3 times at work. My normal shedule is to feed her at 7:30, pump at 10:30, 1:30, 4:00, then feed her around 6:30. I get about 11 oz during those 3 20 min pumping sessions. I've been drinking the nursing tea like crazy and eating oatmeal, hoping to get a few more oz out each day for baby cereal. How many times do you pump?

wow we got the best night we've ever had! 8-8 with only one wake up at 3am where he needed a feed and pooed which resulted in an entire outfit change :dohh:. But wow! lots of sleep!

following by a baby who's fought his naps like crazy today :s, can't have it all, lol!

Caro, that's what happened here too! from 7-6 with only one waking! But still not napping. You've got to be feeling great!

Stacey, I had been feeding at 6ish, pumping at 8, 10, feed at noon, pump at 1 (if she didn't feed well), 3, feed at 5ish. So that's 4 pumping sessions and I usually get 11-13oz. Yesterday I didn't pump at 10 because I was at physical therapy and I ended up with 14 oz. I think that has more to do with her not waking and oversupply from that which should go away in a day or 2. I'm always worried that I won't pump enough if I drop a pumping session but I feel like I'm constantly attached to the machine. I have work that has to get done out in the labs and I feel like I can't because I'm always pumping! I'm thinking of: feed at 6ish, pump at 9, feed at noon, pump at 1 and 3:30/4ish.

Ugh. Toby's having such a terrible day. He's got a cold. If his is like mine (my nephew passed it on to us last week), he's probably got a sore throat... somethings keeping him awake anyway... so he's not napping, so he's over tired, groggy and bored with everything. He's hungry because he's not having entire bottles thanks to his blocked up nose... He's crying and screaming (probably making his throat worse)... It's 5:15pm and I still havent had time to get dressed. I haven't had time to eat... so I've just been grabbing chocolate whenever I walk past the bag on the table while I'm trying to comfort Toby. Feel sick now!! Too much sugary yuckiness.

Ugh, today is HARD.

Still... he sat up for the first time unsupported by me or his own hands yesterday! And OH was there to see it too. I'm sooooo pleased because OH feels like he misses out on loads because of work.

So many babies sitting up!! So excirng.
I feed at 9or so pump at 11, 2, 5 and each time only get about 3-3.5oz. I also pump off the one side I don't feed from at night when I wake up. I get about 4 oz then and I need to set my alarm so I can pump both to get 8 oz bc I can still feed her enough after I pump. I just need to make are I pump even on my days off. We'll see how that goes. Lol I don't mind her being attached to me more often when I'm him.

dont worry Gem, we saw the health visitor today and she was really surprised at george having his teeth, apparently its normally around 6 months ish they get their first but sometimes 8-9 months. Anyway it hurts now when George chews my finger and I get indentations in my skin from his teeth so I wish they weren't there!
