April Mummies 2011

I've been weaning George for the past 2 weeks but he still only has one meal a day and his usual milk feeds. I read that they only need one meal a day for the first few weeks. I find weaning quite scary because I don't want to get it wrong. I make all my own foods for him and he only really has a few spoonfuls but he seems happy :)

I should have said, most of wrote I wrote is when they are weaned onto 3 meals a day. Like crazy said, at first they have one meal, then goes from then.
I also make the kids food from scratch it's so much fun! I love the beaba babycook :)
I've stocked up on loads of root veg for casseroles over winter. That's nice and easy to give baby, once they try meat after 6 months. The only things I do buy in jars is butternut squash as I HATE peeling and cutting it. It's so huge and is a battle!

oh i had an orange hand for ages from preparing butternut squash! :haha:, didn't notice while i was cutting it up but it took a good 24 hours and washing my hair (guess it got proper scrubbed!) to get it looking normal again ! alex enjoys it though!

I give Ollie 4 bottles a day (offer him 8oz) and 2 meals - breakfast (diff flavour porridge) and dinner with a pudding :)
He loves it!
Still not gaining too much weight though. Ive been weaning since the day he turned 4 months gradually introducing new foods and more amounts.

pickle still has 5 bottles, between 8-9oz in each (she takes what she wants, normally all of it :haha: ) and I give her BLW foods at meals we have chance to sit all together - she's getting there, we're not in a rush :)

in the last couple of days she's gone from eyeing food with suspicion to picking it and tasting it - she tries to chew but is still just playing :)

she only hates carrot so far :)

Poppy has 4 7oz bottles a day and I offer her breakfast at the moment straight after her 7:30am feed unless she falls asleep then I offer her it when she wakes up. I've found if she has itater then somewhere in the day she will only take 4oz for one of her feeds but health visitor said that that was fine

I have had enough already today. Rex has been awake since 4.30 this morning. He will not go back to sleep or nap at all. I'm exhausted & have a banging headache. I've had to put him in his cot for a bit. Feel like a bad mum  Doesn't help that DH is sat playing on his XBox just ignoring it all. Could kill him!

Aleena is so adorable.

:hugs: Sazzle, give DH a kick up the backside, thats not on that he's ignoring it all. Men! You should go back to bed for a sleep and let DH look after Rex for a couple of hours.

:hugs: I'm sorry! Stupid xbox hope you manage to get some sleep. You are not a bad mum at all.

What is it with men that think baby is our sole responsibility?! It takes two people to make one so two should share the job! Not even that but a bit of compassion doesn't go amiss! Can you tell deans done the same to me before?!

I gave him a rant one day and it took an ultimatum to get him to pull his weight. Now he will get up with them both and do breakfast etc until Amelia whinges for me, then I stay in bed and lay with her whilst she feeds. Well that's my excuse, he doesn't know I chill out and come on Here on my phone at the same time lol

It's his 30th soon and I've been trying to make it the best day possible but part of me feels pissed as for mothers day I got Sod all!

Think it's rant about your oh day today!

Ah my DH doesn't do much either.
Although when he's off work for a day (once a week) , he'll help me out a LITTLE more. (hold her more, try to rock her to sleep etc)
Actually for him it's a big deal if he brushes her hair after I bathe her.. LOL!! (he does this every time now)

I dont have an OH so I dont have that problem :P
Well got a bf but I dont expect him to help. Were not that serious or anything and Ollie isnt his child.
I do it all on my own every day haha.

my dh has gotten much better and if not, i turn off the computer or whatever and sit in front of his face telling him i need help. men are simple creatures, sometimes you just have to spell it out. try it.

nick didn't do a thing for mother's day either, but last week he got me a ring to make up for it:cloud9: it's my birth stone in the middle and diamonds (abby's birthstone) surrounding it. matches my engagement ring too.

I think i married a good one he is totally devoted to poppy i dont get a look in if he's home! :)

Today is the 4-5th day in a row I've gotten a call saying Rosie was crying and wouldn't stop. I left 11oz of milk and there was only 2 left after less than 3 hrs. She's been happy for me ever since.
That ring us beautiful Dana. I wish I got a mothers ring. I got flowers when Rosie was born from some friends. Lol... its not the same.

Today has been torture! I don't know what is wrong with him! But he's fought sleep all day & whinged/cried at everything. Argh! He doesn't want to lay down or sit up or stand! He didn't want to be held or put down! The only thing he has done without much of a fight is eat! He screamed when his baby rice was finished before bath time. Maybe a growth spurt? But it's a strange time for one at 22+ weeks isn't it?

To get him to sleep at lunchtime I resorted to taking him out in the buggy for a loooong walk. We walked all the way to MIL's where we were going for lunch. Took me an hour & he slept nearly all the way.

If tomorrow is the same I'll be at my wit's end.

Thanks Lily. I didn't realise it could start so early. Argh! Having read the info on your link, I do think it could well be WW26. What a b*tch!!!

I know, be prepared for the worse! :nope:
Ours was/is really bad! Worse one yet.
Naps are hard to come by, it's a constant fight to get her to nap, VERY frustrating.
I'd spend hours trying to get her to nap, for about a week straight.. (knew she was tired, yawning, crying, cranky) then when she did finally fall asleep, it'd be for 20-30mins!
Think she's coming out of it now... THANK GOD!
