April Mummies 2011

Completely normal to feel that way MissFox! I had convinced myself that #2(Ava) was a boy b/c my symptoms were different from my 1st. Everything i did pointed to boy and everyone told me it was gonna be a boy! I went for the US and they told me 100% girl and i actually had a moment were i was disappointed, but that disappointment actually turned into relief! :) She was healthy and nothing else mattered at that point!

I honestly think if i had a 3rd i would want another girl! :haha: I absolutely LOVE watching my girls interact and im like Bernia and always wanted a sister.

:hugs: sam, if i'm 100% honest that's prob my real drive to stay team yellow, i know once i've had the baby i won't care at all whether its a boy or girl, but i worry if i find out at 20wks that its another boy i might be a little disappointed. You won't care once baby is here hun xx

oh and returning to a sleeping bag last night kept alex in bed this morning until more like 7! i really think he was cold...oops!

I know that regardless I will love the baby more than imaginable. And the nice thing is that I'm getting this over with before I have to tell people what were having (well not HAVE TO but you know). I've only told you guys and my mom, mil, and the two older ladies I work witth because they are so comforting and wonderful.

DH went to his job orientation this morning. He will be scheduled for a solid 40 hrs a week with good posibilities of over time as valentines day and mothers day get closer.

This is the first day sincew we've been back I haven't had plans to go anywhere. I just really need to get laundry put away! Is it nap time yet??? Lol

Rosie has been doimng great going potty today. She's had a doaper on and off (no accidents allowed in my bed ) but its been the same diaper and it is still dry. Hoping this weekend is good for potty training!

Caro, so happy to hear that putting Alex back in the sleeping bag has helped him to sleep longer!!

Took about 20 min to get Lizzie down for a nap this afternoon, which actually is pretty good considering sometimes I spend more time trying to get her to nap than she actually naps. We started taking away her bottle at naptime and only give it to her at bedtime. Today I almost caved and gave her a bottle with water in it but she surprised me and fell asleep pretty well.

And while she naps I am enjoying my first maple syrup latte!! Brewed up a strong cup of coffee, added a dash of pure maple syrup and read this cool tip for making frothy milk in the microwave and it worked really well. Coffee tastes so much better when the house is quiet (or in this case with only the sound of Grey's Anatomy on).

I've been trying really hard to cut out all processed foods (at least at home, still need to indulge in a favorite treat once and a while) and if everything tastes as good as this latte then this is going to be easy!

enjoy a bit of peace bernina and your latte :D!!

i really shouldn't moan about alex's sleep, he's pretty good really. Naps generally with no problems and for an hour or two, i just hate hate early starts, it throws me for the entire day! plus he's really grumpy when he's tired! fx'ed for a repeat tomorrow morning, even later would be fab :haha: :D

I have a sick little girl! Poor thing keeps coughing. I think she had a low fever today too. We stayed home because I'm not feeling very well either. I have to post a picture of her new aquarium! We did run to town today for a couple things including a couple rocks and some snails for her tank! :) I love having something in there other than sand. When she finally wakes up from her epic nap I'll put some pictures on Facebook.

Danielle, how is Isis doing this morning? Can't wait to see pics of her decked out aquarium!

Caro, how did Alex sleep last night (or more importantly this morning)?

Lizzie woke me up with a big hug and I swear she was saying baby brother! I asked her a while back if she wanted a boy or a girl and she's stuck to boy. Although she calls a boy her sister :haha:

Hope everyone is having a nice day. I think we're off to the local farmers market to see if we can pick up some fresh local eggs and see what other winter goodies they have. Will definitely need to make a large maple syrup latte to take with me, it's cold outside.

Oh I have to tell you guys about the most awesome icecream I made last night (sorry for all the food posts but I've had a sweet tooth lately). I had a bunch of super ripe bananas I had thrown in the freezer so they didnt go bad. Found a recipe where you just break them into pieces and toss into food processor or blender until super creamy and icecream like. It was that easy and after I added a swirl of peanut butter it was even better. Felt like a rich dessert but guilt free. And best of all Lizzie loved it. Will definitely be a staple in our house this summer.

Caro I was having the same problem with George. He wasn't getting up early but he was waking up 3 times in the night crying. I also think he was cold so I bought a sleeping bag and he's been loads better. It was a shock to my system him waking up so many times lol. But I also didn't realise you could get sleeping bags for this age. I thought they stopped at 18 months.
Oh and if I get pregnant again then I would stay team yellow as I would love a girl and wouldn't want the disappointment at 20 weeks if it was a boy, but I know once the baby was born I wouldn't care if it wasn't a girl as long as he was healthy :) but I think most mummy's want to experience having a little girl. I'm so close to my mum and would love that. But their are also a lot of boys close to their mums.

Bernina that ice cream sounds yummy.

Bernina, thanks for the reminder! I totally forgot to take pictures! :) Isis is still sick and I may take her to the dr on Monday if her cough isn't better. At least she doesn't have a fever today!

If we have another I'll definitely find out. I'd rather have another girl but I really want to know. I can barely wait to 20 weeks let alone going all the way to 40+!

I don't think id ever be able to stay team yellow. I'm too impatient... Although we found out sexes at 14 weeks this time so it feels a bit strange having known for so long already.
Everyone expected me to suffer from a bit of gender disappointment and are either surprised or don't believe me when I say I didnt, not even a little bit, and I'm totally excited.

bernia he weirdly slept until 10.20 this morning!! we heard him about 6.30 but he went quiet again! we panicked a bit at 9.15 thinking omg he's never slept this long before! must have been making up for lack of sleep last wk! however he now hasn't had a nap today and is beginning to lose the plot and its only 4.40 :/. No way am i letting him nap now though!! I've seen a new side to tantrums this afternoon though! eeek! really quite impressive if a little funny :haha:

Katharine i reckon if we'd have been having twins i'd have found out too, mroe for practicalness! its so great you really don't mind having more boys :).

we've been sorting our loft today, omg there's a lot of stuff up there! managed to get everything down accept baby stuff so its ready to move :D, hoping we'll get a date soon! xx

Haven't been on in a while. Been sick with a cold. Ive been sick for a week or so. Ive also been trying hard to keep my mind off anything pregnancy related.

A friend of mine posted her Fb pregnancy announcement today. She has PCOS too and we went to massage school together so I'm really happy for her. But it kicked off obsessing about whether today was my month or not.

So I caved and bought some cheapies from amazon. They will be here Wednesday. My blood test is Thursday. So I feel like I've really done good not obsessing too much.

Anyway-- sorry I skipped people's posts. I'm on my cell. I read them though. :)

I'm hoping its your month Casey!

We're looking at getting Isis a queen bed very soon. We're also going to be buying one for the upstairs spare room. My plan is to leave it in there if we have a second child and just use the pack n play at first and then bed rails on the queen bed.

Josie has been sleeping in our bed more and more so we are thinking of getting a queen as well.

I'm also wondering when Josie should get a toddler bed. I'm thinking very soon.

we think that if we did go for a second baby we'd want to find out this time - I'm less bothered but OH would like to know

we don't care what it is, but with having pickle, and both working full time, he thinks it would be easier to know - can't see how as we're not into gendered clothing etc. Guess we'll see at the time. I would like a boy, but having 2 girls would be awesome too :D

I took the side rail off Isis's bed when I found her with her foot stuck in the rails from trying to climb and get the stuff off her changing table. We put up a partial bed rail that I had put on our bed when she was little and would sometimes sleep in our bed. She slept on her cousin's queen bed a couple weekends ago and loved it! I put pillows around her because its open on each side. I would probably push hers into a corner.

Her crib converts into a toddler bed, but we got it for free second hand... and I can't remember if it came with a book or not. If it didn't we'll just have to "wing it" on how to convert it. I know it comes with a bar. It would be easier for her to get out of bed if we convert it. Not sure how I feel about that yet....

i'm with you on that one. abby is going to be one where it'll take constant putting her back in bed for a few days before she gets the hang of it. i'm not preggy so i'm not in any rush to change her. think we'll wait until she actually climbs out of the crib to worry

Josie climbed out of her crib this weekend.... Which was really scary. But she hasn't done it at night.... she was in time out and was really upset when she decided to try and climb out. I still don't know how she did it!
