April Mummies 2011

or benedryl. I was sitting next to a couple and their 12 month old on a flight to Hawaii. She talked to her pediatrician who recommended that they give him some benedryl so he would sleep on the flight. I wouldn't do that with a 4 mo but by a year maybe especially for a long flight like that.

I'd rather drug them then have them not able to handle it. There were two babies who sounded like dying animals from acreaming when I flew. It would have been better for them to have been asleep. I prepared myself to have to give it to Rosie also. Luckily I didn't need to but my friends daughter list it and bit her and was freaking out bad. That child had to be asleep to fly.

Thanks dreading the flight but can't wait! Ha

Are you bringing your LO?
We're thinking of visiting my family in Holland next year.. I'm already dreading the flight :haha:

Yeh we are we booked it a week before i found out I was pregnant. So just added Poppy to the booking. I'm going with my whole family. Poppyseed such a nosey baby I'm hoping that will keep her entertained lol

It gets WILD but mostly It stays pretty good though. She doesn't run her hands through it too much. Mostly just pulls it in the back. The hair clips are a big way to make itlook a lot more neat than it is :)

ah fair enough, don't think i can put clips in his hair , hers is so cute! x

Just be prepared for it to be really HOT!
Make sure LO doesn't get dehyrdated

DH and I actually used benedryl on ourselves during our overnight flight to Glasgow, worked great to relax us enough to be able to sleep. My mom used it on us as kids too.

Danielle, glad she slept so well and soothed herself, that's amazing!! Lizzie has done that a few times but never consistently. Can you imagine a baby who did that every night, paradise!

Lizzie did pretty good last night, fell asleep nursing in our bed around 10:30 and didn't wake until nearly 5 for a snack then again at 7 and she's back sleeping. I wonder if I'll ever get her sleeping in her crib. She sleeps so much more soundly in our bed, can't say the same for mom and dad though, mostly because she's a bed hog!

Well, you could put clips in his hair...:haha:

Rough night again after going to bed so well and soothing herself earlier. She woke at 1, 3, and 5. This time she woke up DH too. He told me he felt sorry for me last night. She's been running a low grade fever. Same temp all night. Hopefully it doesn't go up so I have to take her home. I have my physical therapy appointment this afternoon - my last one with this physical therapist. She's getting married and moving. They don't have a replacement so I won't be getting anymore therapy on my pelvic floor. I'm being referred to a sports medicine guy to work on my hip though. Hopefully my pelvic floor is good enough that I won't need anymore therapy and I can get my hip better with the new guy.

Stacey, Isis sleeps much better in our bed too, but we don't so I only bring her there if we're having a bad night or I want cuddles in the morning. DH does not want to share his bed, he barely wants to share it with me :haha: He's pretty serious about his sleep.

Ollies been for his review on his length (because hes only a shorty :P wasnt even on the 5th centile last time now hes just under the 10th :)
His weight is the same!
Hes 13lb now! Growing quickly now :)
Im proud haha.

Good job Ollie!! Sounds like he's growing just fine. Curious to see where Lizzie is at her appt Friday.

I'd like to start putting Lizzie to sleep in her pack n play then just pull her into our bed when she wakes to eat.

Little miss has just fallen back asleep while playing on her tummy. Definitely a cat nap though as her feet are still kicking.

The cat nap has lasted 2 1/2 hours :happydance:
Had time to make a sandwich, do a load of laundry and clean out my purse. What to do next....

That's awesome! I had to wake Isis at lunch today to feed her! She's slept nearly all morning. I'm hoping that means I'll have a happier baby tonight that doesn't go to sleep at 6:30!

Sounds like she's doing better today. When Lizzie sleeps decent and is in a fairly good mood during the day, the nights are usually better. Of course I probably just jinxed myself!

Just got back from a quick walk around the neighborhood, didn't realize how hot it is out there. Was cloudy when we started out but as soon as the sun came out I was melting! Lizzie didn't seem to notice or care!

Amelia goes to sleep most nights art 6.30 - 7.00pm and usually wakes any time between 2-3am, then back to sleep til 6/7am. Sometimes I keep her in bed with me when she wakes at 2am but I find she's constantly latching on during her sleep, and using me as a comfort, so then I get a bad back from sleeping in odd positions! Luckily OH works nights so he gets in at 4-5am and puts her back into her cot where she sleeps better.

Heres a pic of her before licking a Raspberry lol!
Jake trying to push Amelia in her bouncer
Amelia around 14 weeks old
Jake was VERY proud of his runner beans he has been gardening :cloud9:

Great pictures Jakes! Tell Jake I am very impressed with the beans!

I am so jealous, 12 hours of sleep for miss Amelia and only waking once, ahhh bliss!!

Lizzie does the constant latch on when falling asleep but once she's out she usually rolls on her back or into her Dad's armpit and settles there (smell probably knocks the poor thing out!)

Depending on how tonight goes I'm going to try and start her off on her wedge in the pack n play (keeps her on her side, she hates sleeping on her back unless it's in our bed, probably because the mattress is softer).

I have an 8pm call with China for work that I am not looking forward to, luckily DH will watch her during that time otherwise I'd have to be on mute since she has taken to babbling non stop these days. I swear she is trying to tell me something! What age do babys say Mamma and Dadda at? She's nowhere close, just curious when it starts.

Ahh Bernina one night she will just surprise you!! I have to admit Amelias always slept on her belly, which obviously isn't advised but we had nights of constant waking, on her back.
I laughed at your comment regarding OHs armpit!!!!

Hmmm I am just trying to think when Jake started babbling constonant sounds..I know he said DADA first (godammit!), and most babies do say that word first, much to Mummies dismay! It was around 5 months I believe.

I was wrong. It was around 6 months he really started to babble away. Just had a look at his memory book and felt quite sad at how fast it went!! First time mums - cherish every single day as it goes by so bloody fast, and before you know it, they are a walking talking toddler!

here's pickle enjoying her teether :)

I just got back from my physical therapy and she said my pelvic floor is great but my hip is still a problem. I'm being referred to a sports medicine guy who specializes in hips. I don't see him until after I get back from Oregon. I'm trying to get everything done this year since I've hit my deductible. Hopefully we can fix my hip without surgery! They might set up a CT scan for next month depending on what this guy thinks.

Love the pictures Jakes! Those are impressive beans he's grown!

Stacey, that's funny! we have a memory foam topper on our bed so I'm very careful when Isis comes to bed with us because there's no way she can move out of my hole. It's probably better this way because DH sleeps way too deep.

Gertrude, Pickle is so cute with her teether!

All the photos of our bubbas! Ahh cuteness overload!
Toby's had a niggly day. Overtired and fighting his naps.

Here's our week in pictures!

(Anyone elses LO always put their arms in the leg holes of things? :haha: )
