April Mummies 2011

It was the results from the full body scan...Its called BAC(Bronchioloalveolar carcinoma). We dont know much else at this time. I think im numb or in shock or something by the news but i am trying to keep it all together for my mom. She isnt taking the news of "cancer" very well.

Try googling it to find out more if you want to.
When my grandad had cancer the other year my mum googled it untill she knew about it inside out to know what to expect and how to try and help etc.
(Oh and btw he had it 2 years ago and had 3 major ops in a week but didnt have any chemo or anything along those lines. Hes still with us and will be celebrating his 80th birthday next week, so just remember theres always hope x)

I need a bit of help.
Ollie had his needles and he was fine up untill about an hour ago when he woke up absolutely SQUEALING in what seemed to be pain. Ive stripped him down to just a vest because he is absolutely boiling. His cheeks are really red.
Ive gave him Calpol about half an hour ago but it hasnt really helped his temp :s hes just gone asleep but keeps making sad faces.
Any advice on what to do please? :/

OK, stripping him off was exactly the right thing to do. I assume you gave him about 2.5ml of Calpol? He can't have anymore for about another 3 hours so keep a close check on his temp. Do you have a thermometer there Hun?

This will give you some sort of idea of what each temp means.

If it gets too high or, if it's a low grade fever, after a second dose it doesn't start to level out within an hour or so, I'd be looking at the docs. Better safe than sorry, love.

hugs emmy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

gem what is his temp? its quite normal to get warm after jabs and it sounds like you have done everything right so far. if his temp is high you can also give junior ibuprofen on top of the calpol which means you dont have to wait 3 hours.

xx

Aww Gem hope his fever goes down and he feels better soon, poor guy. Just remember that you have motherly instincts for a reason so don't ignore them if something doesn't feel right. Lizzie has her 4 mo apt fri and I'm not looking forward to the shots and oral vaccine they give her for rotovirus. She hates that more than the shots.

Well I've got Rosie napping and have some brand new pics of her

Oh emmys Hugs to you xxx Just know that we are always here for you

Gem - What the ladies said - just keep an eye on it, I found Amelia got warm and slept lots.

Sam - Rosie is so adorable and getting so big - she looks very alert and looks like she loves her feet LOL!

We are going away, in a week, to Isle Of Wight for a short break in a caravan lol! Should be interesting.

Ouch I keep getting cramps almost like I am due on, and about five days ago, I wiped and there was brown blood just that once, but still haven't had AF. I am still exclusively breastfeeding so understand it could be a while but whats with the cramps and brown blood?! Maybe my body wants to but can't? So odd.

gem, hope ollies ok! always give nhs direct a call if your worried :)

miss fox, loving the new pics! she has loads of hair like Alex! how on earth do you keep it all lovely looking? no matter what i do within minutes of it drying after a wash alex puts slobbery hands through his and makes it look all greasy :dohh:, so it needs rinsing everyday! and brushing loads to stop it looking horrible!

jakes, prob is just your body trying to come on, or ovulating. i keep getting cramps and def have had a touch of pmt but so far no period either

missfox cute pix!!

heres aleena today:cloud9:

It gets WILD but mostly It stays pretty good though. She doesn't run her hands through it too much. Mostly just pulls it in the back. The hair clips are a big way to make itlook a lot more neat than it is :)

SO cute! I want to take some more almost nekkie ones of Rosie in this purple hat with a HUGE purple bow that i have... I think she's over the camera for today though.

Aleena is beautiful :) Keep the pics coming ladies! I will get round to it but my laptop doesnt accept the sd card so have to get an adaptor.

Thanks caro - speaking of PMT I also have 2 unsightly LARGE spots! So I guess something is happening, and I am losing hair!!! I lost it with Jake and understand its just the build up from pregnancy, but I am literally going bald above my temples!!!!!! omg!!! There is baby hair there, so it is growing but I swear It looks like I am receding, although not noticeable as I have hair covering it. Bloody hormones!!! I am one walking hormone!

Jake's I'm also shedding like mad. I keep telling myself that you loose 100 hairs a day and I'm not the best about brushing it everyday and now my new haircut made it feel thin so I ha e to refrain from freaking out.

Gem - Hope Ollie is feeling better. Matilda woke up with a high temp this morning and is also quite sleepy, we also had a pretty horrible nappy. Have given her calpol and it does seemed to have helped a bit.

I actually can't wait to lose hair as strange as that sounds. I've got thick hair anyway and since getting pregnant it's gotten ridiculous, it's so unruly!

Pica are gorgeous! Sam Rosie looks so grown up and has gorgeous hair, more than Demi lol. Aleens looks scrummy too, gorgeous eyes. xx

Gabe has hardly any hair at all! Funny how LOs are so different.

Eliza has woken up absolutely covered in chicken pox, so I'm now waiting on them appearing on lil guy. She is a happy camper so far, a touch of temperature and lots of spots, but little else. Looks poorly doesn't she? <rolls eyes> Think it surprised Gabriel... :haha:
