many manufacturers have guidelines to follow and they are going to be super-safe as they don't want to be sued. i use aptamil for my nightime feed and i'm happy keeping it for 24 hours in the fridge if need be. no longer than that though.

i think their guidelines are for if the bottle is left at room temperature...? can you get a mini fridge for the bedroom?

Yep, this is for all formula not just aptimal :) They have to follow the health organisations rules :)

Well i have made up my next batch of bottles :) so were good to go for the night.

She was on 100ml and this afternoon was looking for more so left the bottles at 120ml i dont mind losing a little if she does not want it but looking at her feeding pattern shes on more smaller bottles but drinking the same amount :) so i am hoping that she will go 4 hours between bottles and have less. I have noticed that when she has more than 100ml she sleeps longer so i am hoping i can capitalise on this now the cluster feeding seams to be over for a while.

I do the same - make up several bottles and keep them for no more than 24 hours in the fridge.

i keep my aptimal made up in the fridge for 24hours...never had a problem with lo.
i hope their guidelines are just playing it safe

I have really wondered about this only because I know a lot of ladies make up bottles and keep them for 24 hours in the fridge -- but the Aptamil container says pretty clearly, "Do not store made up feeds." There is no mention of room temp or refrigerated.

But I'm sure that what I do overnight - use a powder dispenser and mix with pre-boiled (room temp) water - isn't a bit safer!

I've been really worried about this as well. My LO is 11 days old now and I'm using SMA. During the day I am making up the bottles as and when they are needed, but at night I'm using the ready made cartons, as it was getting too much making the fresh bottles. Do you think it would be safe enough for me to pre-make the bottles? Do you guys just heat them at night with a bottle warmer? x

I make my bottles up with the water then just add the powder when needed and stick them in the warmer. I use Nurture furmula and they suggest that you can only keep bottles made for an hour.

Well were managing I make up 3 feeds at a time so there not being kept 2 long just anything from 8 to 14 hours. Am also using colief so I need to give the 4 hours before there used anyway.

I sure it's just the manufacturers covering there buts :)
