Maya's on Aptamil and we use the ready made cartons. Maya's on 7oz a feed at the moment and it's handy as that's the size of the carton however on the rare occasion she wants a bit more. So far, I've just thrown the leftover milk away because I've been too paranoid about storing it in the fridge, however it does say on the carton that it's ok to keep it refrigerated once opened for 24 hours.

So ladies, what do you do? Do you keep the milk or toss it? I hate throwing it away as it's so wasteful but then I'm also too paranoid about any germs getting into it. :dohh:

When Liam was on Aptamil we would just put any leftovers in a sterilised capped bottle in the fridge and use ASAP which is what the HV advised. I never trusted the little flaps to keep germs out! I always reckoned it was going from a sterile carton to a sterile bottle so wouldn't be a problem. I probably wouldn't put 1oz from one carton in a bottle then 3 hours later add another oz to it though, I'd just try and use it on the next feed and put the leftovers from the new carton in the fridge so you're not leaving it too long.. If that makes sense?

Makes perfect sense and sounds good, I think I'll start doing it that way then. Thanks a lot. :)

I just put it in the fridge in the carton and use within the 24 hours.. Has worked fine for us but if you were worried I think that linsayp's idea is very good X
