Hi all. I did a similar post last week. My daughter has had six weeks of sickness bugs, colds and tonsilitis. We've barely left the house. She goes back to nursery a day and something else strikes. She had tonsilitis 2 weeks ago. I sent her back to nursery last Friday and by Saturday night she started with a sick bug, her second in six weeks. Her nursery friend also started Saturday night with it. I know there's no guarantees but I really want to take her out this weekend. We've been inside all week apart from two short walks. She stopped being sick Sunday morning at 5am. It's now Thursday afternoon. Nobody else has caught it yet in the house. It's confusing me though as it says norovirus can be in stools for 2 weeks and live on surfaces for weeks.Every time my daughter goes to the toilet or uses the potty I'm worrying I could breathe in the virus. I'm pouring bleach down the loo and I'm bleaching my floors, zofloring every surface and washing my hands like a crazy person but I just want to relax again and stop worrying.

Basically if it lives on surfaces for weeks my daughter could continue to bring it home. I'm so fed up of worrying about us getting it. I am terrified of not being well enough to take care of my kids and also I don't want my baby boy getting such a violent bug. Do you think it's unlikely after 108 hours exactly xx

I think it would be unlikely after so long. Usually it's 48 hours, so fingers crossed you're in the clear. You've been through enough! :hugs:

My eldest was the same. Last year, she had a total of 5 off school due to illnesses (mostly S &/or D). She caught everything going and it lasted well up to a week most times.
This year, she had 4 days off over her birthday because DD2 ended up catching it from nursery and passing it on. Me and OH didn't eat for 3 days in case we got it.

The only way to ridden norovirus is with soap and water. They fight against antibacterial and bleach. What ever episode she next has, use soap and water to clean yourself and then bleach/antibac afterwards for peace of mind. It isn't airbourne as such, you can't just breathe the germs in, they have to physically touch you i.e if vom/dia splashed onto your hands or face and you didn't wash it off so it entered your mouth, you will then be prone.

I hope you had a nice weekend out and DD is better.

It's horrible isn't it :hugs:

We've all been ill and had enough. Hope you are all feeling better
