are you all having or had early scans

if so, when will you/did you have them? I was told at the EPU that I could self refer myself and was thinking of having on at 8weeks. Do you think i should have one earlier?
I mmc at 11wks but baby stopped growing at 7weeks

I had a Babybond one at 7+5 (8+2 by LMP) as despite Ruby still being alive at her 12wk scan I am again insanely paranoid about MMC. Got to see movement and hb so was really pleased x

I had 1 at 5/6 weeks cos i was having cramping...thankfully everything looked normal

My Doc wanted me to have 1 at 6wks as I had an MMC at 12wks but it seemed the baby had stopped developing at 6. Once the little bubba was confirmed as 'viable' (what a happy term, not!) i then started on progesterone shots.

I had a teeny tiny bleed a week later (which the previous scan had predicted) but as i was anxious they sent me for another scan so i saw the little one again at 7 weeks.

I think you are right with 8 weeks. Waiting from 7 to 12 seems like an eternity and i'm pretty sure 8 weeks is better.

I wasn't going to have an early scan, but was taken into hospital just after my BFP with suspected ectopic. Then again at 11 weeks due to bleeding.
I think 8 weeks would be a really good time to have a scan

I have had 2 MMC so my doctor told booked me and early appointment with the midwife and told her to get me an early scan asap (the midwives book it over the phone where I live). The midwife tried to get me and early scan and called round two different departments but the hospital would not give me one. So my first scan was my NT scan where I was just a tad over 12 weeks.

It basically comes down to were you live as to if you will get one or not from the NHS.

8 weeks sounds good to me. I don't think you don't want it too early. My doctor scheduled a early scan at 7 weeks, and they couldn't even tell if it was a viable pregnancy because I ovulated so late. Waiting for the rescan was torture! If you wait then you'll know for sure you made it farther than before, and that has given me some comfort.

Ive had 4 scans. One when my office found out, one two weeks after to check "viability" as nothing could be seen the first time. One after a fall a few weeks later, and my twenty week scan. I think eight or nine weeks would be perfect you'd see a little something and be a peace for a little while.

When I went for my early scan (7 wks) to find the baby hadn't grown - I was surprised to find 3 other girls in the same boat in the EPAU - a midwife friend told me that if they scanned every pregnant female early - the amount of MMC they would have would be very high - when a lot of women have a spontaneus MC with bleeeding - a lot of these had they been scanned anything from 1-3 weeks earlier would have been a MMC - the body will reject normally after time - the hard part is not knowing what is actually going on inside until you have that scan - or MC naturally.
I was also told baby aspirin works wonders - and she advised it - but NHS won't give it until your 3rd MC. Same way as they cannot scan every pregnant female.
Worrying really but what can we do?!!

if my bloods are good tomorrow i'm getting a scan this week as well just to confirm location (as previous pregnancy was ectopic).
and also bc i'd looove to announce it to my mom and MIL next sunday (mother's day and my bday)

Hey chicka I had an emergency scan at 6+3 could see its little heartbeat witch was a big relief after my last mmc I would love to see it again at 8 i think its a pretty good time! x

I think that would be great too, its enough time so everything will have developed properly and there will be a heartbeat too. Yay! Congratulations.

I had reasurrance scan @ 7weeks @EPU...MW put me forward for it. then had dating scan at 12 weeks as normal. The early scan certainly helped me.

8 weeks is about right as before that you may not see too much but at 8 weeks you'll def see HB.

I'm considering it; I did have it with my eldest and while it scared me because they couldn't see anything on the first scan the second one was much better I could see him 'jumping' around and heard the heartbeat very clearly...
