If your baby sleeps through the night, do you still wake up with full boobs? And by full I mean, your baby doesn't even drain one boob with the first morning feed? I'm referring to older babies who sleep through the night.
The reason I ask is because I have a friend who never pumps and she's not full in the morning--her STTN baby drains both her boobs in the morning. Whereas I pump 2-3 ounces from the boob my 10 month old feeds in the morning, plus 6-7 from the other. I always thought I was the more normal one until I talked to my LC and she thought my extra 10-15 oz a day was extremely unusual (I also pump once at night before bed, 2-4 ounces).
So what's normal? Is there a normal? If I stopped pumping totally, would my breasts not be full in the morning? Right now, it's like not even an option not to pump first thing in the morning, it would get way too painful by his next feed. I've pumped exclusively when separated from my son and I make 36-39 oz a day. Just looking for some perspective. Sorry this is long
