Asher is a very common Jewish name and lots of kids around my area have that name, specifically modern orthodox. I do like the name a lot and am considering it. I've heard it is on the rise in popularity among the general population as people are looking toward more unusual Biblical names. My list is Asher, Ezra, Elias...

I think it's a great name with wonderful meaning. It also sounds like a soap opera character name, but I truly mean that in an awesome way, lol.
