I had a scan as i've been bleeding the last 2 weeks. They found a bleed under the baby at under 1cm which she said is nothing to worry about and there we saw his winky.

dont go out and by blue just yet as alot of times before 20 weeks the girl looks like a boy...and where the boys are looks alot like what a girl part would be....

im not saying he is not a boy..im just saying there is a huge reason they do not like to do reading of what the sex is before 20 weeks and that is because the genitals can be mistaken as there swollen...and even look as if it has a penis, as girl fetus do have penis and it pulls in

i will give you an early tentative congrats....:)

are you going back soon...for 18 or 20 week scan..by then it should be 99 percent confirmed....

xx

Congrats! But like PP said they are not always 100% accurate this early. I'm only saying this because one of my friends was told boy at her 16wk and 20 wk scan. She had another at 34 wk (baby was breech) and they said it was a girl!!
So no scans can be 100%. Congrats tho, happy and healthy 9 months xxx

We saw balls and winkie and the lady said its a boy so i'm pretty sure it is. I have a sexing scan on 11th june x

that is what im saying....girls this early can have (balls and winkie)..parts and swollen down there till a certain point. It was wrong to say anything so early..

I said on another post my friend as well got told it was one sex at the same age you did and then again a bit later..she got all girl stuff and it turned out to be a boy.....

scans are not 100 percent later on this early since alot of the time girls and boys have the same parts they should not say anything...

im just saying this so you dont go out and buy anything till another sono down the road.....:)

Deffo wait til at least 18 wks to be 100% sure. Some places do gender scans from 16 wks but some dont do til 18 wks which is when we will be going for ours. Either way you have a baby in there! :congrats

Congrats on your boy! We got told girl both times at 13w and both times they have been right (this one was confirmed by amnio)!

congrats :D. was this an nhs scan?
My first nhs scan is when im 14 weeks so i'm hoping they can tell me the sex- however i think they will say it's too early :(

hello hun i had a bleed and mine dissolved but alot of people do bleed it out and for the sex becareful as the boy and the girl have the same bits what look like a boys up untill 16 weeks as it can be mistaken for the unbilical cord even some one who specialist in gender and dose 3d said not untill 16 week earliest so have it confirmed first to be safe xx

Congrats!
I'm not saying your bump isn't a blue one but.............
My friend is a sonographer who works at a maternity hospital refuses point blank to tell people the sex of the baby till 18 + weeks. Its unreliable that early and she would not take the chance of being wrong.
She know's how excited people are to find out the sex and inform's people at the beginning of their scans before 18 weeks that she will not be telling them the sex and explains why.
I asked her to tell me at 16 weeks with lo and she said no.

Hold out on buying blue stuff for wee while longer.

Congrats again xx

you can find out at 16 weeks if you go private they show you the testicals or the lines for a girl xx

I'm going private at 14 weeks she said its 85% accurate xx

So this study says at 14 weeks its 94% accurate. Thats pretty good. I guess the sonographer and the positioning of the baby play a big part too.

you can find out at 16 weeks if you go private they show you the testicals or the lines for a girl xx

I'm aware of that but I just wanted to tell you that a woman with 10 years experience doesn't tell people till 18 weeks on for fear she would be wrong.
I seen the lines myself with my lo at 16 weeks and even the head sonographer with 20 plus years experience said no sorry we don't tell people till 18 weeks. It's hospital policy.

I'm sure your's is a boy but even when I was told girl at 18 weeks I still was cautious with buying pink things.

I had a 3d scan at 25 weeks and I was more sure then.

Btw the "sexing scan" is actually an anamoly scan or anatomy scan to check everything is ok with baby they will of course tell you the sex then if they can. It's not specifically done to tell people the gender though. Unless of course you've book a private gender scan which is altogether different.

I had scan at 14 weeks and was very obvious it was a boy. It was confirmed at 21 weeks :D Congratulations x
