My partner and I are planning on beginning TTC in September and would love to talk to others who have done at home insemination before. Based on our research we think two inseminations per cycle is best. I'd love to do three but two cost roughly $1200 per month and we just can't squeeze another $500 from our monthly budget.

I am charting my temps, CF, and using OPK's and know that our timing is critical. How do you do this without losing your mind? I haven't even really started yet and I'm stressed! So many details to keep track of already and once we start inseminations there is a whole new layer of details. Figuring out when to order the swimmers so we don't incur extra fees for tank rentals or Saturday delivery...

Someone please tell me this is easier than it appears to be!

my wife and I have been TTC for almost a year now, but we have known donors and use fresh sperm. We're actually on donor #2 because after a few tries with #1, we got no where, and he had very low volume. #2 is a friend from farther back, and already has 2 kids (and much greater volume). So we know his boys work. In the past, we've usually done 3 inseminations, but we did only 1 this month because work schedules are conflicting greatly. But we also just bought the OvaCue monitor, and are trying it out for the first time this month. So far, I really like it. It tells be a good 5 days ahead of time what would be the best days to inseminate, so that way we can plan for it. We can't just do it the "old fashioned way"

Thanks Blue, I will definitely read through the posts on that thread.

Hey Lil Red, my partner and I were just talking about ordering the OvaCue to help make the timing element less stressful. Please keep me posted on how it works for you! I've read that it's one of the best ways to time vaginal inseminations. Have you guys used an Instead cup or similar product? I'm wondering if it might be worth considering...assuming we can get it in place without spilling all the swimmers! :winkwink:

Best wishes for this month!
