I avoided them last pregnancy due to paranoia.. this time ive taken a more relaxed approach.. and had a few mcflurries (i LOVE mcflurries!!) No listeria here
I contacted my local mcdonalds and was assured that the mcflurry machine was completely flushed out once a week. McDonalds will have to keep up with their hygiene standards religiously, but as other people have said probably best avoiding the ice cream vans as I guess they're not as well regulated!
Im one of those 'what if' people and know that id be the one in a million to have a complication so I haven't had any at all!
Id say the raw egg yolk would have been worse than the soft serve anyway lol Im sure youll be fine!
I've been dying for a Pinkberry pomegranate frozen yogurt! I haven't had any due to paranoia but I had a friend who was pregnant and she had it all the time. Some of us just worry so much because of all the things we read I guess.

I happily eat runny egg yolk if it's a lion stamped egg, as it's a sign that the bird has been vaccinated against salmonella. They're also guaranteed to not be too old, and to have been handled and stored as safely as possible.
Oh, now I am craving a mcflurry!!! I had a soft serve ice cream from mc d's in my first trimester (I didn't know that there was any type of a risk) and I had soft serve yogurt in my 2nd trimester. Soft serve ice cream was never mentioned to me as a no-no in any of my dr visits or in any of the paperwork I was given so I wouldn't worry about it!!
