Autumn Grace 10/16/10

Autumn Grace graced us with her presence at 11:31 am on Saturday October 16, 2010. I went into labor about 5 that morning and because of my preeclampsia the doctors decided not to stop the labor, even though Autumn was only 36 weeks. She was 5 pounds 8 ounces and 17 3/4 inches long. Came out screaming, perfectly healthy with apgars of 8 and 9. She was born the day after her big brothers birthday and ironically her birth weight and length was the same as her big brothers! She's been here 11 days and already I want another one. Of course, I had a tubal so I can't. But she's such a good baby!! Such a dream!

Autumn Grace - that has to be one of the most beautiful and perfect names I have ever heard! (and I don't gush over much, seriously!)

Just this week I've been driving around and noticing the splendors of Autumn in my area - new snow on the mountains and phenomenal bright colored leaves on the trees.

We went back and forth between 3 names (Autumn Grace, Hailey Grace, and Grace Elizabeth) and had settled on Hailey. But I was in the hospital for 8 days before she was born and on the 3rd day I realized that I'd been looking out the window at the beautiful colors from the leaves changing on the trees. That's when we changed our minds and decided then and there to name her Autumn. And as far as I'm concerned it suits her perfectly.

Not meaning to get off track here, but I can't believe the audacity of people. If you don't like the name someone gave their baby why not just say "oh that's nice" and move on. A little white lie in that case is better to me. I say this because my husband told a woman at his job what we named the baby and the lady was like "ew what a horrible name for a little girl!" GRRR!!

I can't believe someone would tell a Father that their baby's name was horrible, that's really ignorant.
