How long can a 10 month old stay awake before naps?...
Until very recently, our LO went down for first nap about 2 or 2 1/2 hours after waking then had next nap after around 3 hours of being awake. Then went to bed around 4 hours after that.
So:
6:30 am awake
8:45 ish nap - 10:15am
1:30 nap - 45 mins or 90 mins.

In the last week or so, she's taking FOREVER to go to sleep for her naps and at nighttime.
She can be awake from 2 until 7pm and still take ages to go to sleep. She lies perfectly still in my arms, but just stares at the ceiling and eventually goes to sleep.
I don't think she can go to one nap a day. Really don't know what to do.

My LO is up around 7/7:30 ish. She has a nap at around 10ish, then another at 3pm(ish). Sometimes she'll squeeze another in near lunchtime. She is then in bed asleep by around 7:30/8ish.

Two overnight wakeups is normal, 11pm, 2/3am.

Naps are only ever 30 mins each!

She's 10.5 months old. I don't know if that helps at all?

DD2 has only one nap a day normally around 3ish and thats for only 30mins!! Dd1 gave up napping at 9.5mths! I have tried EVERYTHING to get them to sleep in the day but they won't. They both get up between 5.30 and 6.30am but both go to bed between 5.30 and 6.30pm. DD2 might wake anywhere between 12-3 for a bottle. My HV and GP have both said to let them get on with it rather than taking 2+hrs to get dd2 to sleep for a 10min nap.

My dd is 9 months and has one nap at 2 30pm until 4.30pm then bed at 7pm. She wakes for the day around 9am.

At 10.5 months, my dd went from 3 to 2 naps. Before this, her routine was as follows (roughly):
6.30am - wake
9am - nap for 45 mins
1pm - nap for 45 mins
4.30pm - nap for 45 mins
She then went to bed around 7.30pm.

When she went to 2 naps, her bedtime/wake up time stayed the same, but her naps were at about 9.30am and 2pm (ish) and were around an hour each x

10 months was her last month of 2 naps (went to one at 11.5 months). Her schedule:

0430 - 0500 wake up
0830-1000 nap
230-400 nap
700 - bedtime

Generally lasts two hours before getting grouchy.

Wakes 7am
Nap at about 9am for 30 minutes.
Then again at around 11:30/12 for half an hour.
Then at 2ish for 1-2 hours.

If she's awake more than 3 hours, she'll usually have a much longer nap but I have to deal with the grumpiness beforehand.

My LO went to 1 nap at 9 months. He's 10.5 months now and suddenly in the last few weeks his awake time has increased. He used to do 3-4hrs (started doing this long when he went to 1 nap and 4 hrs pre-nap was a definite push) but over the past few weeks he's been waking up earlier and his nap hasn't been quite as long so he's probably awake 4-5hrs before and after his nap (6hrs on a couple of occasions).

We had to drop the second nap as he started refusing to go down for it as he just wasn't tired enough.

HTH x

Jack's day usually goes like this:

6am wake up
8:30-9:30ish nap
12:30ish - 2ish nap
6 - bed

My LO is 9 months old, but her awake time is 3-4 hours. Something like this:

6:30am - wake
9:30am-10:30am nap
1:30pm-3:00pm nap
7:00pm bed

I wonder if your LO is going to be an early transitioner to one nap?

Thanks everyone. I'm so confused! She only had one nap today and still took 20 mins to get to sleep tonight. She used to take about 2 mins!!

My LO is 10 months and his day goes like this

8:30/9 wake up
12:30/1 - 3/3:30 (so 2 1/2hr) nap
7:30 bed

He's been this way since ~8 months, some days he'll go straight to sleep and others he can take 10/15mins to drop off, depends on if he wants to practice any new skills before sleep :)

Parker switches between one and two naps.

Normally up at 7 with 1hr nap at 10 and 2 with bed time around 7.

But occasionally he stay awake until 11/12 ish and have a good 2-3hr nap and that him for the day. i dont like it when he does this as he gets real grouchy, and bed time becomes a nightmare as he over tierd...but he so into stuff now i think he thinks he missing out when he havin a nap.
