OK so im really sorry for posting this but can anyone else help??

When I had my 1st LO (who is now 6) the only thing i remember about the actual giving birth was that as she came out so did a "No2":blush:

Im absolutely petrified that this will happen again, i know that MW's see everything but the LAST thing i want them to "see" is me "No2-ing" myself as well...............am I being ridiculous??:wacko::wacko:

Is there any way of "having a clear out" before hand?? (fibre, colonic irrigation?!!!?)

Ha ha i no2 aswell! and so did a lot of my friends i dont think colonic irrigation is allowed when pregnant and am not sure about any fibre i just think its just one those things i remember them telling me to push like i was pushing from my bum so im not suprised if it popped out lol! I know its embarrassing but they have probably seen a lot worse and i just think of it as your never going to see them again

im terrified of this happening to me too

i didnt with my 1st, also nearly 6 years ago!

i have always said when u give birth u leave ur dignity at the door on the way and pick it back up on the way out :haha:

I didnt even know i had until my mum told me i did a bit.
You cant help it and they just clear it away so fast you probably
wouldnt even notice it unless you were looking 'down there'
My Hubby didnt know id done it either.

My friend's mother made her drink half a bottle of castor oil as soon as labor stared, and apparently it got everything out of her before things got too far along. She said it was a disgusting thing to drink, but she was grateful as it meant she had no worries about pooing herself.

I've NO idea if this is a good idea or not, but my friend swears by it! Lol

i think it happens to most of us , i remember getting hubby to check the end of the bed as i though i had pooed myself with DS1 , he said i hadnt but i saw him pick something up in tissue and bin it bless him . not a clue if i did with DS2 didnt worry about such things 2nd time round tbh , i would try not to worry like someone else said they prob see it several times a day and take no notice

do not take castor oil it can put the baby into distress!!!!

i think you will find about 99% of labouring women have a bowel movement. it also lets the midwifes know the head is quite low, and birth is not far away.
they see it happen all the time, and are usually very discreet about it, most of the time you don't know its happened x

I think most people in labour do poo themselves to be honest, i know i did with my first one but i was in too much pain to care at the time, although i was a bit embarressed when i thought about it after lol. I'm sure the midwives and doctors see plenty of poo every day!

But...with my second i was lucky and did have a 'clear out' of sorts before i gave birth. I had a mega hot curry the night before in order to bring labour on...but it only started mild contractions so i was induced the following day. Just before i was put on the drip i was in the loo and that was it...all gone! and no poo at all during delivery lol....so hopefully this time I might try that again!

My mom has had 7 children (the youngest being 2) and they've always given her an enema (I think that's how you spell it) before giving birth. I was there for the youngest being born, and she definitely didn't "no2."

i didnt do it either, i know lots of people who didnt so i wouldnt worry it might not happen this time

I'm so worried about this as well, I'll be mortified if my OH sees me pooing myself! But it's true what they say though, you do leave your dignity at the door when you give birth and it's all quickly forgotten about when you have your baby in your arms. xx

Im terrified of that happening to me! Im scared of everything to do with the birth to be honest :S

I am expecting my 1st and I'm so nervous about this! Its something no-one ever talks about either!!

I know its prob inevitable but I find it really embarrasing even the thought of it happening!!

Here in the states, they give a HUGE enima once you've been admitted. Unless, you are in serious labor and are able to have your epidural right away. I'm not aware that "this" has happened to me (I don't think it has??) but it did happen to my SIL and the nurse just took "it" away like nothing!! Like you said, they see this so much they probably do not think twice about it.

Oh wow, is this something your ob will tell you ???

This is half the reason I decided to only have my hubby in the room when I give birth...I would be embarrassed if it happened and someone else was in the room...I'm not worried about the doctors seeing it...and my hubby won't bother me if he sees it...but I guess it is super normal and is wiped away before anyone really notices it...

I'm worried about that to, although I've heard it happens all the time and hospital staff are used to it. My mum said back when I was born, they offered her an enema (hope that's how you spell it) to clean her out before birth. She said they didn't offer it when my younger brothers were born but she asked and insisted on having one. I might to the same. I'm more concerned that the first thing my little Isaac smells when he enters the world is no. 2 lol

I didn't with my 1st but honestly, when it's time to push, crapping myself will be the last thing on my mind. Lol
