Last month was the first time I was able to pinpoint ovulation and I discovered I have a 9 day Luteal phase. I've been taking a multivitamin with all the B's in it for a few months now and last month I started taking another 50mg of B6 on top of that. I feel like the B6 isn't working - maybe there's another issue? Or does it typically take a few cycles to work? What have your experiences been?

I just started taking a B100 complex which as 100 mg of B6 in it about 3-4 weeks ago. I will keep you posted. My first cycle has a 10-11 day LP phase.... I am currently 8 DPO now.....hoping for a BFP though..... will keep u posted! How much b6 all together are you taking now?

I just started B100 complex this cycle, too. I've taken it on and off my entire life, so I wasn't worried about taking it at all. Plus I just saw my dr and pharmacist who both said it's great to take, no worries.

I also have a short luteal phase, been averaging 9 days. I have confirmed ovulation, so I was really concerned it's a low progesterone issue. My dr. gave me 100mg 2 x daily of progesterone to take vaginally after I ovulate this month, which will be early this week. This is my 2nd cycle taking soy, which made my AF longer, which I was happy about. Then dr. also gave me Clomid to start next cycle if we aren't lucky this cycle, at which point I will replace the soy with Clomid.

I'll keep you informed on how it's going! I'm really excited to have the progesterone this time around!

And hey, we're all Canadians!! I'm in Alberta :)

What is B6 supposed to help with?

You take it all throughout your cycle, it helps make the corpus luteum healthier, which means it can produce more progesterone during the luteal phase, which can hopefully extend your luteal phase to make implantation possible. You need a luteal phase longer than 10 days. Also very important to take B6 with the other B vitamins, like in the 100complex.

Thanks rdleela! I have been taking B100's for close to a year now since I know of so many benefits that Vitamin B's have, but I didn't know about that one! I also take an additional B12 which always helps with my moods and energy.

B6 success here!

I took B6 halfway through my last cycle... I know you might be supposed to start taking it on CD1, but I figured out that my luteal phase had made me lose one of our little blessings.... So i jumped into the B6 quick!

my luteal phases are usually 9 days. This past cycle, it increased to 12! I was so happy :)

Good luck with it. I take 100 mg per day in addition to prenatals.

i just started taking a multivitamin today...is it ok to take a b100 complex on top of that??

Usually the doses in the multivitamin are so low that you wont overdose with an extra complex vitamin... but im no expert :)

Most vitamins if taken if excess you will just pee out.... but B100 has 1mg of folic acid already in it...and I am assuming your prenatal has folic acid in it? You are absolutely not suppose to exceed 1mg....so that would be my concern. You can always get B6 alone.... Check with your pharmacist/doctor if you are going to combine vitamins....

Thanks for the responses ladies. I'll let you know how it goes this cycle if my LP gets any longer. I'm 3dpo today.
I checked my multivitamin and it all adds up to 100mg of B6 that I'm taking daily. Thanks for the info about folic acid ThinkPositiv! The B6 I take includes it so I'll have to check the amount in my MV - hopefully I haven't been exceeding 1mg.
Go Canadian girls! Lets get our BFP's!! :)
