Babies legs crossed at ultrasound

Ok so I went for my scan at 19 weeks at 6 days. The ultrasound tech I had this time was very young and seemed new. She kept referring to her notes while doing the ultrasound. Well my babies legs were crossed and she said she cannot tell what the gender is. I asked her to take a guess, she said well if she had to guess, she would guess girl, b/c she see's the umbilical cord but no boy parts. she said it is still 50-50 though.

Has this happened to anyone? where the tech guessed girl, or they couldnt see boy parts and it still ended up being a boy?

I am now 20 weeks and 3 days and have gained about 6 pounds. When people look at me they guess its a boy. My co-workers and friends all think its a boy.

Other symptoms/facts:
-extremely tired and have heart burn at night.
-babies heart rate was 140 at 13 weeks and 150 at 19 weeks.
-I have had very bad nausea.
-Dont really have any cravings now, but craved ice cream and cake at around 8 weeks.

I have these ultrasound pictures for 19 weeks and 4 days (2 days before I had an ultrasound but had to re-do it because i didnt drink enough water)

Any guesses on gender, also please share your experiences if your babies legs were crossed.

At my 20 week scan babys legs were closed throughout the whole scan! She said she thought it was a girl but when another lady checked she managed to have a slight peek and said it was leaning more towards being a boy than a girl, had another scan 2 weeks later as couldnt see certain parts of LO properly and this time round was confirmed it was a boy

I haven't had my gender scan yet, but my guess from your pictures is boy. Good luck though

thanks ... this is my first baby and i would love to have a boy.. but obviously i will be happy if its a girl too.. what matters more is to have a healthy baby...
I just wish i knew 100% because this whole guessing game is making me crazy lol ... i had an ultrasound at 19 weeks and 4 days but i didnt drink enough water and tech said they will check gender in 2 days.. so i went again.. and thats when the babies legs were crossed. so now i have to wait until around 30 weeks for an ultrasound.. or when doctor requests it

I think maybe a boy actually, but there is part of me thinking girl too. Mostly cause from the pic you cant see any budge by the butt, but when i look at the skull I think boy.

I don't believe the wives tales cause they were all and I mean all wrong for this pregnancy. He has a fast heart rate, ring went in circles, I craved sweet and fruits and he is 100% all boy. He also was crossed for most the ultrasound but you could kinda see his scrotom under his butt. And when he finally uncrossed, he was 100% all boy. I am getting it confermed next week.

My cousin got an ultrasound by a new tech and she told them baby was a girl. Even wrote on the picture with an arrow and everything. A few weeks later they went back to a lady who had been a tech for 15+ years and said baby was a boy. Sure enough baby Noah is 2 years old now and ALL boy!!

my first son had his legs crossed and i was told to go to the loo, and take a deep breathe and nothing would move him and the person doing the ultrasound did not take a guess so with my son he was a lovely surprise x

I think it's a Girl. The 2nd scan picture looks similar to some of my ones.

To see male parts if legs were crossed at 19 weeks? also if u look closely at the pic near the end of babies belly or top of its legs i see something, but not sure if thats the umbilical cord..?

I would say that it's impossible to say girl, if she didn't actually see anything. If your instinct says boy, then it probably is a boy.

My cravings are sweet (couldn't stand sweet things with other two boys) and similar to my daughter. The babies head shape was exactly the same as my daughters at both 12 and 20 week scans but at 20 weeks his testicles were pointed out to me

I am horrible at guessing but I can tell you that everyone thought we were having a boy based on symptoms etc. To the point that we convinced ourselves it was a boy. It was a shock when we were told girl, especially for poor DH! lol. Next time I won't be listening to anyone!

Btw, when we went for our 20 week scan yesterday, some orange juice and a bagel got her moved into a better position. She was all bunched up as well. We already knew it was a girl from a scan 2 weeks prior but wanted confirmation (and also couldn't get the much needed views of her heart!).

The skull shape looks very similar to my scan and every symptom you have is like a mirror image of me...I'm having a boy xx

I found out on Monday that I have a blue bump too .... Baby was lying playing with his feet at one point and had EVERYTHING on show ... definitely his daddy's son lol.

If I were you I would go back up there and tell them you don't think the girl really knew what she was doing and get a rescan. I would be a little pissed if I were you. With the legs being closed no that's not her fault but she shouldn't say either way if she couldn't see in my point.
