babies weight....

Bloody hell, Liss is 7 weeks and is 11.11 and they all say its a nice weight gain, its me who keeps saying to them I am worried about it but they all say not to. They say she has to eat and if she wants it give it and to only worry when she goes onto solids. I'd not worry about that. My HV sounds lush compared to most of yours, I must have chosen a good county lol

my son weighed 7.11 at birth and at 16 weeks he weighed 16.15. they are such scare mongers... xx

LOL Sam was 9lb 8oz at birth and come his first proper growth spurt shot off the top of the centile chart. He's now settled and is following the 99th centile lovely and at his 8 week check and first injections weighed in at 16lbs 1oz!!!! He's been seen by three HV's and the doc and they all agree he's a gorgeous, thriving little lad and they wish they saw more like him. Your HV sounds like a right bloody muppet! xxx

Gabbi was born approx 1 1/2 weeks early but hadn't grown for 2 weeks so she was a little behind in growth.

When she was born she was 6 lb 7 oz
At 3 months (approx 13 weeks) she was 14 lb 1 oz

At this point, the nurse told us she was gaining too much weight. Old Bulgarian woman, very old fashioned. Pediatrician said she was perfect. THANK YOU!!!!!

At 4 month check, nurse was trying to be clever (OH said) so doctor basically told her to shut up and do what he tells her to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She shut up.

I know we have to listen to HV a little (I don't!! Don't understand the language lol) but do not let her tell you that your daughter is too big, putting on too much weight, etc. She sounds perfectly perfect to me!!!!!!

Liv was 16lbs 91/2ozs at 14 weeks if that makes you feel any better!!!! She is very tall though (70 1/2cms at 23 weeks) My HV tells me she is doing brilliantly - she is a higher height percentile than weight although I don't need to be told that - I can tell she is thriving!!!! x

my son was tiny when he was born (5 pounds 8) but seemed to explode in weight at about 4 months by the time he was a year he had shot up the chart and the health visitor was on about healthy eating all the time. BUT he is two now his wieght gain slowed (no change in diet or anything) and he is now on the exact MIDDLE of his chart. Chart can be misleading sometimes!. I wouldnt worry about it and certainly dont cut down her feed or anything its ridiculous to suggest that such a young baby can really be "overwieght"

hi, i would try hungrier milk, not any solids-its far too early and can hurt her tummy. xx

she sounds like she's doing really well though, hv's go over the top with their silly charts etc!

YOur child is just fine. When my son went in for his 1 year checkup the doc told me the he had the biggest head they had ever seen (big head but he is perfectly proportioned.) Talk about insulting.

My son is almost 3 and is in size 5 clothes. He is not at all chunky but very tall. They go in spurts and change every other day.

i would take no notice, my son was weighed 2 weeks ago at 10 weeks old and weighed 15.2lb's!

They told me the same but he's not fat he's just long.
