and who arent on solids yet.....
How long do you have inbetween each milk feed?

Usually 3 to 3 1/2 hrs between feeds for us.

He goes down approx 8pm and sleeps till 7- 7.30 nearly all the time. If it gets later in the morning i think i'll try and space his feed a bit more and cut dwn on a bottle as sometimes i feel like i'm cramming in the last bottle before bed. I might see how it goes when i start weaning as i anticipate having to start at 4-5 months...so that might help in getting rid of 1 bottle and upping the oz on the others.

Last feed is at 6.30pm and the next one will between 6am and 7am

Sorry to clarify, how many hours between each feed in the day :D

Alex has 4 hours between each feed during the day but still wakes during the night for one, im wondering if i feed him every 3 hours instead it might help him sleep through?

Oh I see sorry wasnt concentrating! 3 hours between feeds in the day.

my little feeds about every 4 to 4 1/2 hours and sleeps through but i did start weaning her but it may have been to early as she just kept being sick.x

with my daughter Aria (from the age of 5 days) would have her last bottle feed at 10-11pm and would sleep until 6-7am the next morning. She missed a feed during the night but HV said it was alright as she was gaining weight etc and just to let baby sleep. I don't think i could of hit it luckier as i love my sleep and that was the only part i was dreading the night time feeding. My wee girl is still a good sleeper going to bed around 7-8pm and normally wakes up the odd occasion during night but sleeps the 12 hours of the clock, i found the best way to encourage her to sleep longer was a routine, ie, a wee kick about (lying on her mat bare bummed!) around 9pm then a bath, changed wee cuddle bottle and put down to bed. I did this right up until she started solids at around 4months x

oh and during the day it was every 4 hours almost on the clock! x

When DD started sleeping through the night consistently at 12 weeks she was eating every 3.5 hours during the day. She'd have her last bottle between 7-8 p.m. then she'd sleep through til about 5 a.m., feed, then back to sleep. She moved to every 4 hours for feeds when she hit 4 months of age.

zach has 3 hours between his feeds in the day. goes to bed at 8 and normally gets up about 7:30. we do have the odd day where he will wake up around 5am for food but these are very rare.

try changing alex to 3.5 hours at first and see how he goes??

Yes definitely!!

Before we started solids she'd go about 3.5 to 4 hours rarely more. She slept through from about 12 weeks, that was with waking her in the day and leaving at night until she wanted it.

Ohh I think this thread has possible saved me lots of hassle! I never thought about babies taking milk more often to sleep through, I thought they would just take more every 4 hours...:dohh:

Sophie has 4 hours between feeds and sleeps from about 9.30pm until 8 am

Theo goes 2-3 hours during the day, goes to bed between 8-9pm and sleeps til 7-8am xx

ok i seem to have a bum deal. archie is screaming for food every 2hrs'ish and is going down about 9pm, sleeps til 3-4am and feeds again, back down then til about 7am and then every 2hrs again.

Where am i going wrong?

He was on 150ml (5oz) bottles and i have recently upped them to 180ml (6oz) but he is rarely polishing off the whole thing. oh and he is on hungry baby formula

Classyburd does your baby nap regularly during the day? I know when Ruby didn't, I was feeding her every 2 hours. Once I got the napping sorted, she lasted 3 hours. It turned out she was crying from tiredness not hunger. (I started hungry baby milk before I realised this, I don't think she really needs it now but as she's sleeping thru I daren't change!)

He dosnt have set nap times, he just sleeps when he falls kinda thing. i may try dragging him out to 3 hrs and if he cries, try settling him to sleep first.

Thanks for that, will se how it goes

Yea, ive found Alex tired cries and hunger cries are very similar. Alex has set feed times so that makes it easier to tell which is which.

3-4hours normally but sometimes he will take loads and go abit longer
