What do you think of the boy's name Grant? It's been a favorite for several months now. My DH does like it which is rare for him. I didn't think he'd be this difficult.

It's a solid, strong name. I wouldn't say I like it, but I don't dislike it either. It's a name I associate with people of a certain age (45-55 years old) like the name Sandra, Glen or Karen.

Thank you both for your responses! I still really like it so not sure what to do. Boys names are so hard for me. I'm from the US so not sure if there is a different perception of that name here.

I agree with pp, I had a grant in school with me who was always called grunt, it's a 70-80's child's name IMO.

It's the name I have picked out if this one is a boy. I love the name! As a teacher, every Grant I have ever taught has been very sweet.
I also couldn't care less if anyone else likes a name I choose. I like the name and it's my child.

Very interesting to see a comment that it's an 80's or 90's name as I see it as a 60's name. I've never met a Grant younger than 45.

I think it is a good solid name, and if you like it then go for it!

Sounds like a dependable, strong character, I think it's a very good name for an American boy!

Thanks ladies! I still like it but we'll see. Am 33 weeks so have about 7ish more weeks to decide unless he comes early. :) The only Grant I know is 18 or 19. Sounds like more US ladies like it than than UK ladies. Who knows maybe just cultural differences between friends across the pond.

I really love the name, its a great scottish name - with many many generations of Scots in our family its a name we have debated!!! If you like it you should definitely use it x
