I don't know if there is a solution for this, but my son does not like the baby carriers that I have. Actually I have 2 ergo carriers, a Baby k'tan, and a ring sling. I think he just doesn't like to be facing in. I think once he gets older he will like a carrier that he can face out in but that will still be a couple of months yet. Has anyone figured a way for their child to like the carrier if at first they hated it?

I would like to wear him so that I can get more done around the house.

Sorry no advice but you're not alone, Zach hates his too... He used to like the Moby when he was small enough for the newborn hold but now he just wants to be looking around. I also paid 80 quid for a Connecta... Total waste! I know how frustrating it is, desperate to get my housework done!

Dominic did at first and I just kept trying him in it and going places so he was entertained.

Could you try shortening the panel on them by rolling the waist band up (I dunno if you can with your carriers?) So baby can see more. Dominic's always happier when he can see out better.

My second hated the carrier yet wanted to be held all the time...I figured she couldn't have her cake and eat it as I needed my arms free for housework and eldest so I plopped her in carrier and walked her around and around the house talking, shushing and parting her bottom and she calmed after about 30 mins and fell asleep. The following day she protested and j did same again and it only took a few days and she then switched and saw baby carrier as best thing ever and chilled the min I put her in it

Thank you. I think that I will keep trying. I actually got him to sit in it while I vacuumed today for about 20 minutes before he just wouldn't have it anymore. He can see out pretty well in the carrier that I use the most. He would just rather be facing the other way. He really likes to be held facing out.

Thank you. I think that I will take your approach and I'm sure he will like it after a while. I had to do the same with swaddling. He hated it at first and then after a few days he is fine with it.

With all the money that we have spent on these things I think we should give it a few more tries at least to see if after a while they like it!

Good news is carriers (including connecta) usually hold their value really well so you should be able to sell them on for practically what you paid if they don't work out.

Just wanted to say my son went though a phase where we clearly wanted to face out but he wasn't ready. He got over it and went back to loving the ergo. I think it's just a developmental phase they hit, so definitely stick with it.
