Baby hair colours.

Hi everyone, I just noticed today that Leo has really blonde roots to his brown hair, does this mean he will lose the brown for blonde as it grows?

My dad and brother had bright blonde curly hair when they were under 5.....I hope he's going to be the same because they looked so cute!

Also, when do you think eye colour can be determined? Leo's are dark blue on the outside but light blue on the inside, I think they will go green due to genetics but really want him to have brown like me!

I think eye colour can take years, i was born with blue eyes just like my son and in all my baby pics up to a few years old they where blue now they are green/brown.

My sons hair was very dark when born and went to blonde and now is like a sandy blonde colour which is what mine was when I was a child then turned really dark.

Ella was born with masses of dark brown hair.
As the weeks have gone by she has blonde / slightly red ginger roots and dark brown ends.
It looks quite funny.
Her eyes were dark blue at birth and now they are really bright, light blue.
She also has very fair skin which is odd - she was slightly jaundice at birth so looked tanned and dark haired and now we have a blonde, blue eyed, fair skinned baby!
She is 13 wks.
Oddly though nobody has blue eyes, OH is the darkest brown and I have green / orange eyees!

When I saw the title of your post I thought you were going to dye your baby's hair!

No idea about determination of hair colour: my LO has hardly any hair at the mo but OH and I have very thick hair so hopefully she'll grow real hair soon!

Eye colour I think can change any time from a few months to something like 3 years. Very difficult to guess: me and OH both have green eyes but of course we don't know the genetics alleles behind our own eye colouring so no way of predicting whether hers will change or not.

Haha nope no plans to dye his hair, can you imagine!?

It seems they change for a while then! My 2 daughters have stayed the same, one has blue eyes and the others went green quite early and stayed and the hair colours are the same as at birth. I just found it odd he has these blonde roots coming through, makes him look bald under all his hair if you know what I mean!

My son was born with almost black hair and it's now blonde.
As a child I had blonde hair but it's now brown so I'm expecting my sons to do the same xx

Ruby was born with dark hair (like me and OH) but it is now blonde. It looks gorgeous, I really hope it doesn't change to dark brown haha

Finlay was born with dark brown hair, it all rubbed off and grew back blonde. He also was born green eyes which are now brown like his daddys, i think they will stay brown as my other two kids have brown. I was quite gutted when they changed i thought i had finally had one child with my eye colour

Omar was born with loads of black hair like mine. It didnt fall, but it's changing color. The new hair is ash brown, & the old hair is brown. As for his eyes, I dont knw yet. They were dark blue, then changed to dark green. I think they will stay dark. I have hazel-green eyes & DH's r hazel.

my first daughters hair never changed colour, my second was born with dark brown almost black hair it eventually all fell out and now she has white blonde hair x

My cousin had blue eyes until about 3-4 months and it turned brown. I'm curious what my baby is going to look like, she was born with brown hair but the new hair growth is super blonde and her eyes were dark blue but now they're a little lighter.

Daisy had black hair when she was born but it has gradually gone blonde.

Adam had darkish fair hair at birth, it mostly fell out and now it's regrown it's slightly lighter, but still fair. I think it'll be light till he is a few years old and then go dark like my brother and I; we were golden/honey fair only till about age 3. My husband had white blond hair as a toddler and now he also has brown hair.

His eyes are still dark blue mostly, but he has a ring of greenish grey round the iris, and I expect they'll change, hopefully they'll be hazel/green like mine.

my daughter now 6 was born with 2 inches of dark red hair and started to

grow through strawberry blonde which she still is now, i have a pic of her hair

and looks like her roots need doing and my 8 week old baby boy harry was

born with brown hair and after a few weeks started to go a blondy colour so

dont no what colour he is going to be x x

I was born with black hair, and it fell out and came in snow white. You never know! Also, someone mentioned eye colour. My niece had blue eyes for four years, and she just turned five, and they are now hazel.

All my kids had black hair...and it is dark chestnut brown now. Kelana's of course, is still black.

Did it ALL rub off? It's just that my LO is currently sporting a rather fetching mohawk where it's all rubbed off except the centre strip
The new bits look really blonde [it was a fair bit darker and almost looks red in some pics/lights] but I'm wondering whether it'll all blend in or look very two tone?

My hair was very light blonde from birth but OH's hair was apparently quite ginger for the first couple of months, then ended up light blonde as well so I'm wondering if LO will be the same. His sister had black hair that went blonde, I think it's mad how that can happen!

Not sure on the eye colour, I've heard people say anything from 6 weeks to 9+ months
My LO's eyes seem to be getting lighter, I'm just hoping they stay blue like mine rather than turning brown like his daddy's as he looks much more like my OH anyway!
