Best of luck and try not to worry! Very similar happened to my aunty in law with her youngest daughter, though in her case the placenta just seemed to stop working properly. She had a c-section at 36 weeks though her daughter was only about 3lb and very tiny. They kept her in hospital for a couple of weeks until she got to just under 5lb then they let her come home. She was fine just gained weight very slowly for the first year and could still fit in 0-3 when she was 12 months, after that though she gained weight and height a bit too well which is apparently quite common. Things have settled down now though and she is just a little bit taller and heavier than others her age and has suffered no long term health effects from being born so small for dates xx

Thanks for all the well wishes and happy outcomes ladies. Its now 4am and wide awake in hospital! Its crazy in 6hrs I'll potentially be a mummy! Eeeek.

Wow! Best of luck to you and your little guy.

Did they just catch it through your visits and scans or did you notice lack of weight gain or reduced movement???

It was spotted during a routine visit. Very glad they did but been a hard few weeks waiting and trying different things to try and keep him in as long as possible

Good luck, enjoy your cuddles with the new baby xx

I will be thinking of you - not long now!

I know how scary and serious iugr is. Hoping for the best for your little one, you're in the right place, and congratulations on becoming a mummy in the next few hours!! x

My baby stopped growing around 34 weeks and I was induced at 37 weeks after a growth scan and doppler flow scan showed no growth and reduced fluid.
Baby was born at 5lb5 and absolutely perfect, she required no specialist care - we had to stay in hospital for 3 days so they could check her temp, glucose etc.

The scans aren't always correct, there are loads of women on here who have been told baby has stopped growing or baby is tiny and this is not the case when born.

I am sure everything will be fine - good luck and let us know how you get on :) xxxx
