Baby head down and low at 20 week scan

I had my 20 week scan yesterday and I was exactly the same! Sonographer was student and she had everything verified by more experienced sonographer who wasn't worried! She said I'm tall (5'6" which I don't feel is too tall) and that can explain baby being comfortable lower down. She said they find comfy spots and stay there and that's probably the same for all of us! X

My baby is head down at the moment, and seems to like it like that! This was yesterday at 20+1:

Haha this might be TMI, but I sometimes feel like my whole internal organs including baby are about to come flying out!! Almost as if they are too heavy, and I think this is causing the pressure. I do feel like I need to pee constantly with it, and generally as if I should keep my legs crossed in case baby comes flying out :dohh:

Silly I know, but pregnancy does weird things!!

Haha this made me laugh as its exactly what I was saying to my sister today!! The feeling I get does make me feel like that's going to happen sometimes, it's funny the way we think when pregnant!!

My LO head was super low when I went to my scan at 19+1 , there was no concern, the baby has a lot of room to do 180 degree turns. We had to come back 2weeks later and this time he was breech (uncomfortable with his knees in my pelvis!) and he was actually turning, he went from head down, to breech, back to head down
Edit: sometimes I feel pressure similar to the pressure I get while on my menstrual. And of course if he decides to roll onto my bladder, the pressure is unbearable

Yes the pressure I sometimes feel is like when I'm on my menstrual as well!! Also I'm not sure if its related to the baby being so low but lately I've been feel a kind of ache/pressure in my lady region, feels high up but I'm not sure (sorry tmi!) I'm wondering if this could be the baby pushing on the cervix?

When i went for my sonogram, I told my sonographer about the pressure and during the sonogram she saw that it was the baby causing the pressure. I found my self walking and holding my vajayjay (tmi) because of the pressure! Sometimes I get the achey feeling too, and a sharp pain through my vagina which I also think is my baby hitting my cervix, it kind of scares me but my midwife said its normal, I've been experiencing it since about week 16 with no complications.

Oh glad she said its nothing to worry about! I don't like the achey feeling it doesn't hurt but is uncomfortable I only feel it when I'm sat at my desk though, lets hope they move up soon!

That's interesting as I'm tall too! I suppose it makes sense as I can imagine it is more comfy low down :) x

I had my 20 week scan on Friday and my little girl was head down really low and wouldn't move, so we're going back for another scan next Tuesday as the sonographer couldn't do all the measurements. But I was worried today I felt like a pushing sensation in my girl bits TMI (my lips area), it lasted about 10 seconds. Then I felt something on the left hand side. I was that worried I phoned the hospital and the midwife said not to worry its baby getting comfortable.
It freaked me out as I was scared baby was going to try and come out, but I've felt her loads since I got home.
Part of me thinks it may be because I'm constantly rushing around at work and don't hardly stop in the 10 hrs I'm there. And my baby is fed up of being bumped around all day xx:hugs:

Lol I'm short (5'4) and baby was WAY head down for my 20 wk scan. And wiggling like crazy! It took AGES to get all the measurements!

I get punches - hard visible punches - about an inch down in my hair line. I didn't even think they could fit right there haha! Weird to see that part of me wiggling. Constant headbutting in the cervix and tossing and turning down there too - sometimes baby won't even let me sit down from all the movement!!

Nothing wrong with it at all, just uncomfy lol.

Hi ladies i had a baby march 2012 who sadly didnt make it and then i went on to have a baby this year in july who is lovely and healthy.

with my pregnancy in 2012 my baby was head down at 20 weeks and i was feeling like i had lots and lots of pressure, i also had back ache and a lump down below where the head was. i also suffered with painful urination. i kept tellig the midwifes but they didnt listen to me and in the end i gave birth at 22weeks. my baby was too premature to live.

Then this year my little boy was head down from 18weeks the sonographers never on any scans got his head measurements. Midwifes kept telling me the baby could move around at any time but he never did. he was fully engaged from very early on and i expected him to come early as the pressure was unbearable, he felt like he was going to drop out. i had painful urination and bowel movements as he must have been layed on them... any way he was born full term at 38weeks

so after the long paragraph my point is that babys can be head down from very early on and be completely fine but then some can be head down and it signalling a problem.

always trust your insticts a mother is always right :)

Dont want to scare anyone as pregnancy is scary enough without hearing things that could go wrong but just wanted to makr people aware if you feel somthin is wrong get checked and make the hospital listen to you.

Wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancys :) xx
