... please tell me that's not possible?

Lol! Hello third trimester ladies! I posted this topic in 2nd tri before realizing it's probably more appropriate here since I'm in the 3rd tri :haha:

Last night, I had Braxton Hicks contractions. Ever since then my baby who is normally higher up in my belly seems to have moved way down and ALL DAY has been kicking my cervix. It feels like he is kicking my vagina. Sometimes it feels like he's kicking my bladder. Whatever he's kicking, it feels suuuuuuper uncomfortable and it feels a little unnerving because it feels like he could actually open my cervix. That really can't happen can it? He's just been kicking there so repetitively!

I've been trying to get him to move by rubbing my belly, talking to him, singing to him, playing him music, walking, standing, sitting, laying, swaying, eating, drinking lots of water, nothing seems to be convincing him to move out of that position. That's the position he's decided he really likes lol.

Any advice on what to do? And peace of mind, like hopefully someone can tell me that no matter how hard he kicks there, he's not going to actually open the cervix?

Thanks ladies! :hugs:

I have a little slugger and shes been battering my cervix for a few weeks now and shes still in there nice and snug! I do joke with OH though that one of these mornings I'll wake up and her foot will be dangling around down there... Maybe they're planning their escape haha x

Lol feels like that doesn't it! :D Well it's nice to know (and not nice to know... sorry you're experiencing this too) that I'm not the only one. It's good to know it's been happening to you for the last few weeks and it hasn't opened your cervix. Is there actually a risk of that though? Lol I know it's probably a ridiculous idea it just feels sooo like it sometimes :haha:

Are you sure it's his feet. I thought mine was feet but actually was the head. Vaginal ultrasound always confirmed head was still down and actually caught the baby pushing it way hitting my cervix. So it's quite uncomfortable and sometimes hurt. And the bladder. My child head nuts it when it's full.

I doubt they can kick/punch/headbutt the cervix open but its always worth a chat with the midwife to reassure you if its really worrying you :) x

I also thought my baby was kicking my cervix, but he is infact head down so he was headbutting me, i think moving further down. Yesterday I was soo uncomfortable every time I walked it felt like he was literally about to fall out and it felt so swollen down there. I also had painful period like cramping, i was sure something was happening but luckily it's alot better today. If he is kicking and not head down, try swaying on all fours. I heard that can encourage them to move to the head down position.

omg I HATE that feeling... a few times last night it felt like this baby wanted out.

With prev pregnancies they got head down early and i got the headbutt in cervix feelin, this time ive had it quite a while, thought he was head down, midwife terrified me by tellin me he was actually breech and he was kickin me in the hoo ha! Has since gone head down and it feels diff to when i was bein kicked in it lol...at ur next appt they will be able to tell u if baby is head down or not xx

I get this, if it wasn't for a quite a strong pelvic floor I strongly believe I could have wet myself with some when against my bladder to! X

This is the first pregnancy I've had where LO is really hard on my cervix. I had days here and there with my other pregnancies, but this guy feels like he's kicking constantly. And I keep getting the feeling of scraping along it + pressure - it literally stops me in my tracks and I have to wait a minute for him to stop. So uncomfortable!

Just wanted to say that I'm getting kicked in the cervix, too! I know she's breech because I just had an ultrasound... It feels like I'll suddenly have a foot sticking out of my vagina! Haha... Sometimes it's just a really strong brush with the foot instead of a kick, but it still makes it feel tenuous! She better not ruin the mucus plug ten weeks early. Silly babe.
