what have you done to your home to 'baby proof' it?

think its time we started! we have already secured the dvd units so they can't topple on her, but i worry!

Hide any wires!!!! Marlie loves wires and can find them no matter how well you hide them. :dohh:

We put things in front of the radiators as they get hot (like her big toys, a table, etc)

Still trying to work out how to get the drawers in the cabinet secured, but luckily Marlie hasn't gone for them. She's found every other drawer in the house though.

i was thinking of these for drawers and cupboards! maddi has worked out how to open ours in the kitchen :dohh:

Heres what we have

Stair gates for stairs, kitchen and Decs room
Door slammers
Safety corners
drawer latches
fridge lock (for when he gets in the kitchen)
Glass safety cover for shelves on tv cabinet

WE are also in the process of putting pip lagging all around the table legs !!! Lol dont want anymore bumps.

Oh dont forget socket covers and a first aid kit !!!!

Iv got little things to go on the doors to stop them slamming shut on fingers! Might not be a problem for others but in my flat all the doors are held open by door stops because they dont stay open. Also need to get an extendable gate to stop bubs going in the kitchen as i have open plan living/kitchen!

I thought I was being really lucky with Alasdair...as he wasn't discovering anything I didn't want him to. In the last 24 hrs he's found the catflap (we don't have a cat tho!), the radiator, the dvd player and dvds and all the wires in the front room! He thinks it's hilarious when I say 'no' and just seems a bit bemused when I move him away from anything! He's liked the bins and the dirty wheels on his pram for a while but at least they aren't powering anything and full of electricity!

Ive so far covered all plug outlets , covered corners with pads .. emptied out all cleaning products from reachable places ..and got rid of lots of in tables and useless things

We have:

Socket covers
cupboards & drawers latches
Glass safety covers on our french doors
First aid kit.

Other than that I feel we don't really need as there is nothing lying around, so he can't play with anything!

Well we ere getting new furniture instead of glass ...everyone goes OOOOOOO at glass furniture you know what I'm glad we didn't change it! ALL edges are smooth Caitlin is use to it and its not cheap naff that will break in a second unless you put a hammer to it its not going to smash :dohh:

Got a new sideboard we need to put some catches on that ...little single ones will do so for now nothing is in it.

Removed DVDs from the bottom of a tall book shelf/unit to a smaller one that is now at the back of the couch which I can put silly things on too out of reach and out of sight nearly too (2 seater is at an angle).

2 stairs gates ...one between living and kitchen and one between living and hall way

Caitlins NEVER been allowed in the kitchen

Top of stairs we have one of those roller type gates

Had to take the fake coal out of the gas fire though :dohh: lol

Next one on list is to cable tie/hide the wires on stereo etc

She can get to back of TV so at the moment her rocking horse is sat there!

Got some babydan door stoppers that can swirl round to stop fingers getting trapped in door or goes ver door and can't be opened (livingroom)

Think thats all
