Hi ladies. I figured I'd post this here to get some help from new mommies. :) I have lots of pregnant friends with showers coming up and I'm trying to figure out something to get them. I've had two losses in the past year and have no living children, so I find it very difficult to shop for baby things. But I still want to honor my friends. So I want to put together gift baskets with items that help new moms... things that are practical or even just fun. Things for mom, not for baby. What are some things that you wish people would have brought you after birth?

Thanks!

You're so kind to look for great gifts after everything you've been through. Your friends are lucky. In case it helps, this is the list I compiled of my favorite newborn baby products. Best of luck! https://www.theydontfeedthemselves.com/newborn-twin-baby-product-must-haves/

That is very kind of you.
If it's before birth a hospital bag is a lovely present, I was just given one for my birthday. Cute wash bag filled with all the things I'd need, hairbands, lip salve, mini shampoos, dry shampoo, toothbrush and paste, bar of chocolate, maternity pads etc.
For after birth a voucher to offer to help clean, or a take away night, some nice relaxing bath stuff, manicure voucher. Those are things I'd like anyway!

What a lovely friend you are! I hope they appreciate you.

I'd second the vouchers for a manicure/massage etc. A nice, small bag is always useful - carrying around a changing bag makes it difficult to have a proper handbag - but losing your purse in a huge changing bag can be tricky sometimes. A scarf is always good too - a chiffon one to wear with tops so clothes can be worn without feeling too self conscious about body image & can be whipped off in case of puke.

I hope you get your rainbow soon.

For something fun and cute, how about a casting kit they can use to take prints of their babies' hands and feet in plaster or clay?

A nice photo frame could be a good present.

MIL got us some takeaway vouchers for the restaurant just down the road from our house which came in handy!

Thanks ladies for all the great suggestions! I think I have a pretty good idea of what I'm going to do. :)
