Has anyone tried any of the baby slings that are out there because I'm thinking of getting one, there are so many different types to chose from :dohh:

The car seat we have is to heavy to carry round the shops and If I only need to pop in for a few things I don't want to have to get the travel system in & out of the boot (quite bulky and heavy - god knows why I chose the one we have - preggy brain) This way I can have hands free to do other things whilst comforting Lewis.

If anyone has got one, tried one or knows of anyone who has used one I'd be grateful for your thoughts on them.

I've got an Ellaroo wrap sling, it's great because it distributes Kaya's weight across both shoulders

I have several.

The moby: I love this, it is comfortable for me and baby. I tend to use it when I am going to be wearing him for a while like around the house doing stuff or a trip to the mall.

The Bjorn: This is good as well, especially for DH. I like this for medium trips, grocery shopping.

Sling: this is ok. I tend to have trouble getting him in it right, but it good for quick pop in the shop kinda things.

i have the bjorn i think. its really good, it took me a couple of weeks to figure out to put it on my slef, but saying that i barley use it really.

I also have the Moby...and LOVE IT... (I actually have two)

I used the Bjorn Baby Carrier one:

It was awsome until she got too heavy to carry. And after about 9 months she was just too fat to fit in it also. Which was annoying because it said "suitable up to 22lb" so I figured we would be able to use it for a lot longer - but there is absolutly no way I could have fit her in it or carried her around in it at 22lb. She's only 21lb now!

That said whilst I could use it it was pretty good, I carried her everywhere in it when I went out. So much easier than a pram!

Next time (if there is a next time!) I think I'll go for one of those big clothy arrangement things they look fun.

I have a Bjorn and a PeanutShell sling. The Bjorn works well, its just a pain to have to get all strapped in. Also, I think Erica prefers the sling, and since there are like 5 different ways to carry her in it, she can always get comfy. I prefer the sling personally.

I have a hug-a-bub, it's like the moby, but when Jack is sleeping, I can put his head in such a way that I can bend forwards without having to support his head so you can be totally hands free whatever you are doing. (I don't know if you can do his with the moby or not. It was a close race between the two when choosing which one to buy, but this feature was mentioned with the hug-a-bub & not with the moby & thats what made me decide. I love it too, he almost feels weightless when he is in it as the weight is distributed so well, & when he is really fretful, i can put him in & he is settled & asleep within minutes:happydance:

Here's LO in the Moby at work, with her head tucked in the wrap so it doesn't wobble around during carrying...
