My 8 week old likes to stick her hand in her mouth when going to sleep. I think she does it to comfort herself. She won't take a pacifier though. Is that really strange?

Nope my now 5 month old sucked her hand from very early on and still does

Just wait till the fun stage where they like to explore their gag reflex by sticking their hand as far back as it will go, over and over again!

Nah, my wee one did this from less than 24h old. She was born at 4am, we have a video of her around 6pm that day sucking her fingers really loud. Just wash their hands regularly with a wet cloth and make sure you dry them. My wee one still does it at 9.5 months, but now she puts EVERYTHING in her mouth.

Nope not strange at all. My baby still does that and she is 22 months old. Sometimes it could mean they are hungry / thirsty but most of the time they just like it.

My DD does this, some of the faces she pulls when they're in there are hilarious, then continues to do it :dohh:

My boy is the same. Used to suck on 2 or 3 fingers, then eventually just a thumb. Has always refused dummy and is not a big thumb sucker either. Just now and then he will suck on it for a minute or 2, if that.
