I had my first ultrasound today (7 wks 5 days) and the baby was upside down! Didn't think too much of it at the time since I was so excited to see that a baby is actually in there lol, but now I'm wondering if that happens a lot??

i was told not to worry too much about what you see in the begining. my placenta is attached beside my cervix and i was terrified about placenta previa and my dr told meim silly and to stop worrying about everything :P beautiful little beanie :) congrats !!

my baby was upside down in my 8 wk ultrasound... lol. my uterus is backwards (dont know if that affects it). but yeah, its normal. I think they wouldve said something if it wasn't. i should be getting another scan tomorrow (long as i fix an insurance issue) so Ill come back and let you know if its still upside down lol.

Cool! I never had an ultrasound that early so didn't even know that sometimes happens!

I think its normal. They bounce around and change positions often.

Mine was upside down at 7w u/s and then bouncing all around whichever way he/she pleased for the 11wk. Totally normal!

Yep, definitely normal. The sonographer can also easily flip the image, so that's why you often see them right side up. It's not because that's the norm, just because that's how sonographers prefer to look at them. Baby will move lots as he/she gets bigger too.

SO I got my almost 12 weeks ultrasound today. baby wasnt upside down anymore. But WAS moving around like crazy. bouncing flipping over and even a huge jump lol. sucking its little thumb and crossing its legs. Such an amazing thing to see. OH was so happy :) It's his first.

Yes, no worries. BOTH of my babies were upside-down in their first ultrasounds... then when I went for my NT scan at 11 1/2 weeks with my son, he was not upside-down... most of the time. He was, however, flipping and dancing and doing all kinds of things, so never know what positions they're in at that point! lol... But yes, it's very common for them to start out upside-down.

Good to know! Now I can't wait for my 12 week ultrasound! I didn't know they moved around so much at that point so that'd be awesome to see :)
