I suggest getting a car seat cover that the baby sits on top of, and has a cover to go over the baby. It's something that you can definitely buy second hand, but it's really helpful. I got a pink one like this yesterday for $2.

U can buy those soft snow suits that are not padded so not so bulky but still warm, think thats what I'll be getting xx

I would use a long sleeved vest and something over the top like a cardigan and a blanket.
It depends how long your journey is- if it's long then a snowsuit is very hot in the car and it's v easy to overheat in a snowsuit, but on a shorter journey the car is v cold and snowsuit is fine- so depends really!!
Blankets are good because in the car they are easy to take off and on depending on variable temp in a car!! I find snowsuits are best for prams and slings where youre outdoors the whole time, but that's just me!!

Oh and def a hat- that hat is soooo cute and babies need hats in the fits few days/weeks

Well, as I don't drive (OH does) when I have baby after he goes back to work I'll be taking him out in the pram for walks etc and to see family so I'll use the snowsuit then

Journey home from hospital is 30mins really so not long and as our car is new-ish it has good air con/heating
