:) im so happy

thanks everyone. im so happy :) i have my booking in appointment next weds then hopfully only 3 weeks till my 12 weeks scan.
does anyone know if the chances of mc goes down after seeing the heart beat?

Congrats haze, so pleased things working out for you:hugs::hugs:

great news hun. I think once you see a heartbeat at around 8 weeks the chance of mc does decrease although Im not exactly sure on the stats. Every step is a positive one. :flower:

:happydance: happy for you my scan is tomorrow i will be 8 weeks :) i am soooo scared , i hope i get happy news too [-o<

Aww, haze, what great news!

At my first ultrasound, dh and I were completely expecting bad news. It was quite funny - the technician sats within seconds "okay, I see baby and I see a heartbeat. Now your bladder is too full so I need you to go pee!".
What a surprise! She didn't want to send me to the washroom without giving the good news first - she could see how worried we were!

As for mc rate - yes, the risk drops dramatically. Depending on the study, if a hb is detected at 8wks, the risk is down to between 10 and 3% from the horrible 15 to 25% (unless your hcg doubling time was more than 72 hours) So it's time for a big extended happy dance!

Congrats haze and hazy bean!!!

Good News Haze! And yes the chances of an mc do decrease MASSIVELY once a HB is seen at 8+weeks. https://www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk/ma2006/information/ultrasound.htm this link which I found after my 8+5 scan says are chances of a successful pregnancy 98%. Other sites have a slightly differrent % BUT all agree that your chances of an MC are much much lower.

Its a great feeling isnt it. You will be amazed now how quickly the 12 week scan comes. And yes you will be anxious about that (and about the 20 week one as well) but having a successful scan at 8 weeks kept me sane until week 12 I swear!

Mizze xx
