I'm only doing 2 days per week for my keeping in touch days but as of Oct i'm back four days a week.

Lo seems to have increased his night feeds lately and last night looked like this:

Bath, Cot and Bottle: 6-6.30 (drank roughly 100ml)
Dreamfeed: 8.30 (I just had to go to bed!!!) (50ml)
1st Wake: 11.30 (80ml)
2nd Wake: 1.30 (60ml and nappy change)
3rd Wake: 2.30 (50ml)
4th Wake: 4.00 (50ml)
5th Wake: 5.45 which ended up in waking for the day, wouldn't go back to sleep)

Now when I write it all down it seems obvious - Get him to take more less often but how can I when he drinks what he wants?

Should I be getting up before him and df him again perhaps?

I don't mind getting up, neither do I mind getting up early as I am an early bird but I hate the mood it puts me in for work and for hubby - especially when he comes home from a night shift all sleepy and ready to go straight to bed!

I know its been asked loads and loads, in fact if someone had the answer i'm sure they'd a fortune but is there anything I can try to do in the last week I have not working full time??

Any advise would be great!!!

It may just be a growth spurt if it'd just suddenly started happening which in this case it will just pass x

Is he on solids at all?

My DS1 started doing this from about 5months & started showing signs of being ready for weaning. He use to sleep through from 7pm-6.30am (would have slept longer but I had get him up for when I went to work) then he started waking 2-3 times a night. Could be same for your LO (obviously speak to HV beforehand!).

Thanks both, in answer to your questions, yes it could be a growth spurt but unfortunately he's never gone throught the night but he did get better and only wake 2-3 times at some point.

As for solids yes he has been eating 3 meals a day for a while now. It didn't change anything.

having the same problem with lucas, i think it's a growth spurt he's just wanting so much milk and i go back in less than two weeks, i'm dreading it! i can barely function with basic housework after a bad night :dohh: he's also on three solid meals, has four bottles throuh the day but still waking a lot at night this week. but he has just cut a tooth so i'm thinking that may have been the problem and it should improve soon!

Hi Fidgit!! :flower:

I keep waiting for the inevitable first tooth, he was soo hot yesterday when mum was looking after him, she had to strip him off and her house is cold!!! He also slept loads yest and he normally only sleeps 3 times throughout the whole day. He also has quite runny poop's today so I wonder whats wrong?

hey lucy!!

've had a miserable, constantly whingy baby with runny poo, he had a bit of a temp a few days ago, but has been like this for over a week, and it's cutting through now.

but i know there's a growth spurt at six months and i think he's having that too, he's on silly amounts of milk at the minute!!

Oh so it could be that then perhaps....sounds identical symptoms! x

I work full-time (40 hrs) a week and my LO has been waking every 2 hrs thru the night. I've found that it's easier for me if I bring him in bed with us. That way I can nurse him without having to fully wake up or get out of bed. Some days I just feel like a zombie, tho. I just try to get thru the day as best I can.

The other thing that I have had to start doing is going to bed really early - like 8:30. We eat about 6 pm, baby goes to sleep around 7:30, I have an hour to do chores and hang out with DH, then I go to bed. It's not ideal, but I know it won't last forever.

Good luck!

Sounds like teething inwhich case it will pass, but my suggestion would be to wake him up properly to feed him, then he'll take more and should sleep longer.
