**UPDATE**

Well... I can't say for SURE this worked... but at my NT scan yesterday the Scan Tech told us he thinks we are having a Girl (and he's usually right-- always with boys, but has been wrong a few times with girls)... we won't know for another 4-6wks for certain... but if he IS right, then this silly little test worked for me! haha.

Ah, how exciting!!! I can't wait to know for certain!! I seriously about cried when he told us what he thought... I just KNEW it was a girl... and would be so thrilled to be right. But no matter what, I'll love my little one so much!!!

i tried the soda at 15 weeks 1 day and it fizzed i hope it is right i already have 2 girls but as long as a healthy baby its ok !!!

I want to say 10wks or more... but I could be wrong? I don't for sure how much it really matters...

How much fizz are we talking about? A lot like when you mix vinegar and baking soda? Like the bubbles in Coke?

I wonder if there is any difference in whether it is old or new. Mine did not fizz at all, but the box has def been sitting in my fridge for a LONG time. When I go grocery shopping this week I think I'll pick up a new box and see if there is a difference.
PS my OBGYN told me at my appointment the other day the she has heard that the chinese calendar test is supposed to be the most accurate (like 52% lol) But on the internet I keep finding ones that are totally different and even come out with different results! Anyone know of a good link?

This is interesting, and likely something I will try for fun when I am pregnant! However, having a science background, I can only think that it just has to do with the acidity of your urine. More acidic would mean fizz, and less acidic would mean little or no fizz. Everyone's urine is different in its concentrations of acidity, but perhaps the sex of the baby could change this?!
