Baking Soda Gender Test...??? *UPDATE PG5*

I wonder if there is any difference in whether it is old or new. Mine did not fizz at all, but the box has def been sitting in my fridge for a LONG time. When I go grocery shopping this week I think I'll pick up a new box and see if there is a difference.
PS my OBGYN told me at my appointment the other day the she has heard that the chinese calendar test is supposed to be the most accurate (like 52% lol) But on the internet I keep finding ones that are totally different and even come out with different results! Anyone know of a good link?

Shouldn't make too much of a difference, though you can try adding some vinegar to see if it still fizzes.

This test as well as the cabbage test is based on PH. Acidic PH in urine causes baking soda to fizz and the old wives tale is that acidic PH=boy. I did the cabbage test and the baking soda...both said girl and so did my sonographer!! Next scan is May 25th where I will know for sure either way.

Lol pee in a cup and add a cap full of bleach. It it has bubbles like sprite its a girl, if it gets a head like beer its a boy. Is it just me who will pee on anything people suggest lolmust be the continuation of my poas addiction,

Well I'm only 6w today and just did the bs test, and it fizzed A LOT!!! Well, we'll find out in 8 months what it is... though still have our fingers crossed for a girl.

I just did the fizz test, it almost fizzed over so looks like a boy but everyone who's seen my scan thinks im having a girl so who knows, the only person who thinks boy is my mum x

I just did the bleach test (have no baking soda!) and it got a head on it!! So boy maybe? Although doesnt it need to fizz to get the head on it?

Anyway we will see in about 4 weeks when we have a private gender scan!

Hee hee! I've just done them both!! The bleach test had little fizzy bubbles with a big head but the baking soda test didn't really fizz, just frothed up a bit. Might try it again in a clear container instead of an old yoghurt pot!!!

I'm 8 weeks and thought that this one might be a girl, mainly because of the dates. We'll have to wait and see at the 20 week scan. Exciting!!

I wish there was a sample to show you exactly how it looks if it doesn't fizz or not and how long into the pregnancy does this typically work? I am 7 weeks 3 days pregnant and i really am hoping for a girl since i already got a beautiful crazy little boy

well considering it didn't fizz everywhere and just kinda frothed at the top does that mean its a girl?
