Which do you think will suit me better, a bed guard or a travel cot?

My baby is 8 months old and it is for overnight stays approx once a week.

He is already big for his age so will this affect what type of travel cot he can fit in? But the bed guards all say for 18 months+ so is a bed guard gonna be dangerous for him? Price-wise I will pay whatever I need to. I don't imagine I will transport it about, I will probably buy two of whatever it is.

Any insights or recommendations?
thanks in advance x

Kaya slept with a bed guard until recently without any problems. A bed guard would last longer as well.

Thanks. Do you know why it says 18 months? When did you start Kaya with a bed guard?

I think the 18 months recc. on bed guards is because that is when most babies can safely stand up, at 8 months if your LO was to pull up on the bed guard he could topple over, I tried Dec with a bed guard at 11 months and he pulled up on it and fell head over heels, but then some babies seem fine with them. Tbh hun it is up to you what you think best, my little nephew slept in a travel cot until recently and he is a 26lbs 20 month old, so they can be used for quite a bit.

to be fair, we co slept with Kaya and so used the guard from a very early age. She did used to lean on it and nearly fell once or twice, but she learned not to.

i would go with the rail too....it will be easier..and my bub is almost already to long for a travel cot because of his height..so i imagine yours is quite tall too...
