This might sound silly but are some women incapable of giving birth without being induced?
With my last pregnancy I had no signs other than one brief set of braxton kicks and was induced at 41+4. This time around I had threatened preterm labour at 28 weeks, but here I am at 39+6 and no sign of him coming on time.

very few babies arrive on time, the usual time to give birth is anywhere between 37 - 42 weeks, so giving birth at 41 weeks would be considered normal, obviously their are risks of going later which is why inductions are done and its frustrating as hell waiting past your due date (my son was 40 + 6). i think your just as likely to go any time soon as anyone else, the fact you have had an induction doesnt determine that.

Hopfully this baby will make an appreance sooner for you, they say second babies come sooner, lets hope thats true for you. good luck xxx

i hope they arrive soon!
i was induced for my first pregnancy, i've told the midwife i dont want to be induced this time though. at all! i'd rather wait it out for a few more days if i go the full two weeks again.

i really wanna go through spontaneous labour!

I've had to be induced with all of mine because I seemed incapable of doing it on my own... bloody body :hissy:

I just wondered if there was anything medically that makes some women unable to do it.
I really want to have this one without being induced! It seems so much more exciting!

i guess it's something to do with hormone production?! isn't oxytocin... that prepares your cervix? could be majorly wrong though... i know that something kicks in which makes you go into labour.

whatever it was, i didnt have it! it will be interesting to see what happens this time though. although the thought of induction actually makes me want to cry.
i hated everything about it. :(
