Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum and looking for some positive chat with fellow ladies TTC.

Me (27) and hubby (28) have been TTC baby no.1 for 4 months. I know that's not long compared to others but it's all relative and seems long to us.

I also have a raised prolactin level which has been investigated, but I am ttc naturally for first 6 months before considering meds as advised by my endocrinologist. Started using Preseed last month as a lube but considering using it this month with the applicators too!

How is everyone else getting on ?

Welcome, this is a great forum that I think you will like a lot! It definitely helps me-knowing there is a group of women who I can connect with about all of my ttc issues makes it easier.

I am 28, ttc #1 with my husband for nearly a year. I thought right after I got married I would get pregant! Even after the first month I was dissapointed with a negative pregnancy test. I've now had 11 negative tests. I am definitely at my breaking point-but all tests have come back good and I have an appointment with a fertility specialist at the end of the month. It can't come soon enough...

What does it mean to have a raised prolactin level?

Hi KBP, nice hearing from you. I know, it's hard being around people every day who have no idea about how you feel and why you're feeling it! Finding working and TTC extremely challenging and that is an understatement! So wanted to join this site.

Yes, my jaw hit the floor when I didn't conceive 1st month trying - I was a bit naive! I know I haven't been trying for long but I'm sure you'll agree that every day feels like a mountain to climb! And staying positive after another BFN is so hard.

Raised prolactin level means that the pituitary gland in my brain is releasing too much of the prolactin hormone into my body, causing irregular cycles and potentially means I'm not ovulating regularly, or at all. I have had a positive OPK every month though and get EWCM and I DO get a period (last cycles have varied in length; 29, 36, 30...). So the consultant wants me to try naturally first before giving me meds to regulate the hormone.

Do you use OPKs, Preseed, etc? That's great you've got an appt with a fertility specialist, it's exciting for you :).

Welcome! I'm in a similar boat. I finished my third cycle of Clomid a little over a week ago. I'm about to turn 30. I have PCOS. So I have a couple things against me. The best thing I can tell you is stay positive. You'll have days where it seems like it's not going to happen for you. On those days, this forum is helpful.

Rachel-yes, I use OPK's-since August. I use them because my cycles vary and so I am never positive when I am going to ovulate. Haven't used preseed yet...

If my HGS goes well next Friday, I'm wondering what the plan of action is going to be. With the completion of the HSG, all of our work up tests will be complete. Wondering what the plan will be assuming the HSG goes well. Maybe clomid for a boost?

Hello and welcome! 4 months seems like a long time when you are new ttc. Luckily you are already hooked up with an endocrinologist. Many women have to wait a full year to get connected with an RE.

As for staying positive. There are good days and bad. I knew something was wrong after I didn't get my period back after like 4 months stopping BCP. When I got the PCOS diagnosis I was actually relieved because I knew there could be a game plan. Generally if I am having a great day ttc doesn't bother me as much. If I am having a bad day I am more libel to be sensitive about ttc troubles.

Hey there! I'm new here too. I'm 24 and my DH is 23. We just decided to actively start trying, for over the past year we have been "not trying, not preventing" and now we're going to put our best foot forth. I have some worries because we BD regularly, and the way ovulation seems to have always lined up, I feel as though we should've conceived already.

I never knew about the prolactin hormone! That's very interesting. And 4 months can feel like such a long time, even longer when it feels like you're waiting! DH and I are going to buy pre-seed and follow the sperm meets egg plan to a T next month, if a miracle doesn't happen and I get a BFP this month (AF due in a week). Prayers that you get a BFP!!!
