being pregnant and lazy

Haven't read all replies - there is a difference between being lazy and genuinely not being able to do things. My first and second pregnancy I did everything as normal - my first I worked harder to prove I didn't have pregnancy brain (I used to be blamed for EVERY mistake in the office although only the odd one was mine). With my second pregnancy I worked right up till things went wrong - and I was hospitalised.

This pregnancy - I am so very tired - I am sure it is in part due to the extra stress of loosing my son last year. I can't sleep. I am not allowed to do any heavy lifting - due to having the problems last time. BUT I pull my weight both in the house and at work... it takes me longer and I have to find novel ways of doing things (ironing sitting down!) but I do it. Today I ran (set up and packed down all equipiment including 5 fold up tables) mums and tots for 14 families - it took me longer than used to pre pregnancy but I did it. I do have help but they don't come in till after set up.

If I moan I feel I am justified. You don't know other peoples circumstances - or how they are feeling. If you are one of those people who can still do everything as normal you are VERY lucky.

Hon, so sorry you're so tired. Seriously, put your feet up and whine along with us. Even if you could do everything as normal - taking care of yourself while pregnant is for suckers.

And trust me, we can tell you haven't read all the replies....

This thread is one of the funniest ever I think it has just taken me about half an hour to catch up.

DH & I were ment to be going to bed at 10pm - may be that is laziness but we kind of need our sleep we've been up since 4am.

Dinner well I take my hat of to those who managed to cook dinner - between us (our marriage is an equal partnership) - we managed to zap some soup from a tin with a ring pull, so we never had the energy required for a tin opener, we managed to find something DH prepared earlier from the freezer and zap it with some of my Uncle Bens Rice.

Yes DH is looking after me he did the drive to work this morning but I'm not lazy I got pudding (a packet of sweeties) and managed to feed him some too, to save him lifting his tired handies to the bag then to his mouth.

But its time for bed, who knows how long this thread will be when I next get a chance to catch up.

You read the whole thread your poor tired eyes!

Yip my eyes were nackered when I caught up last night. Can't believe the amount of catching up I have to do today again - page 35 is where I got up to last night - OMG I must be so lazy not to be able to keep up with some of you ladies:cry:

geez and I thought I was lazy:haha:

I had to clean the cooker! About four months of cooked on fat and I really scrubbed it. Please send me relaxing thoughts! On the plus side DH woke up, tidied the kitchen and washed up, put tea in the oven (not yet clean) and is currently hoovering. I did have to fetch the boy from nursery but DH does have flu so I suppose fair's fair and now I get to rest all evening.

On a bright note about the OP, I think my blood pressure goes up whenever I get annoyed or angry, which probably brings my bp up from badly low to just within normal range ... which means that my dizziness went away all yesterday as soon as I read that post. :flower:

I need to find another anger inducer today it seems.

you smell of dry weewee.

did that help?

:gun: you beotch.

but maybe that's the reason I'm nauseous.

On reading MisLaww's reply that DH didn't wipe me:
Figures. It's DH's fault again. These boys really need more training.

What is this world coming to?

Okay, sit down and put your feet up. The sun is shining on your face...you can see the light through your closed eyelids - but it doesn't make you squint. A warm, pleasant breeze is coming off the ocean and softly, gently warms your body. You sink into your lounger, one foot in the warm sand. An unseen manservant lifts a straw to your mouth, and the delicious (fill in your drink preference) cools you off. You drift happily into sleep....

oh my, i need to stretch, and i cant lift my arms.

someone send a compliant manservant to help me please, hey will have to climb over the back fence and not get bitten by the doggies. the back door is unlocked. thx

20 pages since last night wow, lazy people you need to rest those fingers, repetative strain injury I am way to lazy to read them, spent all day trying to find childcare and watching cleaners clean the house, my head hurts!

would it be wrong to get my husband to read the posts to me (anything i wouldnt want him to see lol)

ah, mine got offended  I now have to start retraining him... though after laughing at my requests he then simply went and made my dinner without realizing how ingrained my training has become... hahaha....

Lol you're good at this!

It would be good for him to know just how HARD pregnancy is on us, and how much we struggle with things like stretching, peeing, and counting our own sheep when we can't sleep.

He was offended lisaf?! DH got in the house, home from work sick, sat down and said he didn't think he'd be able to look after me. I mentioned this thread. He's just brought me my tea this moment.

brilliant!!!

hmm, I must have done it wrong. I told him that apparently he's supposed to be packing my lunch for me to bring to work and he just laughed and laughed then walked away....
walked away to go make my dinner :haha:

I love the fact that I'm sitting here reading this and my wonderful hubby (or should I say 'man-slave') Just bought me through a cup of coffee (although don't call me a bad mummy for still drinking caffine :-o!!! lol)

I'm not going to lie, I had it pretty easy first tri. No MS, just a bit tired and apart from a suspected appendicitis this tri, again it's been pretty easy.

But at the end of the day I am pregnant. I'm not going to carry on my days exactly the same as I did back in March. Some would call me lazy as I live a 20min walk from home, yet my mum picks me up from work a couple of days a week and takes me home (yes I'm 24 and married and mummy is still my taxi) But I would call it people looking out for me. When I do try and do 'normal' things I usually get an earful from my mum or hubby.

The other day was the first time I'd used the hoover since getting pregnant (hubby has been doing it...I'm not a total skank who hasn't hoovered her flat for 6months!) OH's opinion is that he's there to spoil me and take care of me, even though he works bloody hard. We're realistic in that although we'll share things equally when bubs is here, a lot of the hard work, especially for the first year will be me, I know I wouldnt expect him to do the housework like he does now when Im on maternity leave.

We're pregnant for goodness sake, yes most of us know we aren't ill (not including the poor ladies who havent had it as easy)and yes I still do things like housework and work full time But if you can't call in a few favours when you're baking a baby...well I don't know when you can!!!

xx

Sweet. I wish my mom did that for me.

And you know what? Floor care is a blue job. I haven't swept or vacuumed in years.

In the words of my husband ...

"We're a bunch of overpaid prima-donnas"

Good for him I know he's joking and that he's going to bring me up a cup of tea while I lie in bed watching soaps :)
