Hi Ladies :flower:

I have currently been employed with my current employer since September, I have worked out that I will be entitled to SMP just. But I am suffering with SPD and was wanting to be signed off long term as I am not coping with work and looking after my DD.

I am 18 weeks tomorrow, Would I be entitled to SMP if I was on the sick? I would have been employed 26 weeks 16 weeks before the baby is due (I've sat and counted on the calender! :dohh: ) I really just can't carry on  x

Hiya, I don't think sick leave affects entitlement to SmP so tha shouldn't be a problem as you are still employed .Inky thing to check out is the fact tha your SMP payment depends on your average income based on certain weeks in pregnancy ( can't remember which weeks) so that may affect the amount you get?

Your SMP is calculated based on what you are earning in the 25th week of pregnancy, do you get full pay if you're on sick? I've been signed off onto bedrest and have been told I will get full SMP as I get full pay for 6 months.

Yeah, i think it's based on what you earn in weeks 17-25 of youre pregnancy x

So if your only on ssp you wont get smp as you have to earn over £90 a week to qualify. however you will get mat pay which will be 90% average earning. if your on full pay then you will get smp x
