Hi,
My husband has been medically discharged from the armed forces, we were aware that his leaving date was on the way but were told we would get a letter informing us of the actual date, anyway he was paid his normal wage on Friday (3oth oct) and the today in the post his p45 arrived, this was sent on the 23rd oct, i can't believe they didn't tell us before this arrived what a way to say thanks for the last 12 years but by the way you've already left.
Anyway back to the point of this post, i've rung up housing/council tax benefits, tax credits and we are looking into employment and support allowance (this used to be incapacity benefit) as hubby is no longer well enough to work. Is there any other benefits we can claim? we applied for disability living allowance but so far have been turned down and need to appeal. I only work 16 hours a week and we have 2 kids x
