At 5w1d-13,443 an at 5w4d-57,080 and 5w6d 83,910. I am being sent for an ultrasound too to look if it's twins. But my midwife is waiting for 2 weeks! Because that will allow us to see more and date it better (I guess). Good luck!!

I'm waiting for a call back. I did a repeat test today but won't get the result 'til probably late Monday.

I don't think I'm farther along. I get irregular periods so I can't go by that (last one early January), but I was charting BBT and it started to rise on 2-23 and it stayed elevated as I kept measuring (went from an average of 98.5 to 99.1). So I believe that was ovulation. Plus within a week after that date I started getting some light cramping and breast soreness. Is there any other reason the T would increase if I had already been pregnant?

I was worried about a molar pregnancy for a minute, but they seem pretty rare (1/1000). I wish they would let me go in for an u/s. :/

fwiw, twins don't seem to run in my family. We weren't using an ovulation drugs. OH's side has twins, but I figured it'd be on me for that, no?

It would only be genetic for fraternal twins. Identical twins are just chance. I have read others who had high levels with singles. But you never know......

I have been SO sick for just about a week now.
I was feeling sick, then had the beta done. It all then made sence.
I don't usually get sick til 7 weeks. But it has been since 5 weeks! I am 6 weeks today. Really want to get my beta done tomorrow....haha, it's an addiction now!
But midwife says I dont need anymore, just wait til the ultrasound! But it's hard to be patient. I really hope it's twins, I just had a 16 week miscarriage in December. I would be trilled with 2!! Thought that would be baby 6&7!

Well, this just in, the hcg results were actually from 6w4d and 7w, so they were not too far out of range. The ultrasound showed just one single baby (whew! I know many people want twins, but that scared the heck outta me!)... it's little heart was fluttering at 165 and it measured at 8w1d. So, my new due date is Nov 7.

I asked her if my numbers meant it was a girl, and she said nope, old wives tales. So, no idea. I then thought the heart rate sounded high, so maybe a girl, but from what I've read they are all high before 20 weeks. So, no idea, but have one healthy cute little bean happy in its gestational sack with it's little heart fluttering away.

I guess about 2 weeks after conception, maybe a little sooner. Just cramps and breast tenderness. I still feel pretty good, although the bus rides make me nauseous.

You have no idea! lol! I think multiples are made for people with experience. As a first timer I'm much more comfortable with the idea of 1.

i totally agree! i had betas in the 77000 range at about 5 weeks or so and also just have ONE uterine baby. so happy, that its my first time and its just the one and not twins. honestly though, i'd be happy with whatever god gave me as long as healthy. congrats to you!
