bf and weaning

So LO was ebf until 5months. Now he is eating loads of foods and loving it. He is at nursery full time now and almost 6 months.
My question is... Is it OK to just bf him in morning and then when we get home at tea time as he refuses bf from bottles now and will drink water from a cup instead. He seems really happy on this so far but it is only the first week!!

Do you mean no milk at all throughout the day?

Bf at 7am then when I pick him up at 5pm.

That doesn't sound like enough milk at that age. It should be their main source of nutrition until they're 1. I'd think you'd either need to send pumped milk or formula for him. I'm not sure of the exact amount of milk they need to be having at that age but I think it's about 30oz and I doubt he'd be getting anywhere near that from a couple of feeds a day.

Not to be rude to you staralfur but I did mention in my first post that he refuses bottled milk. So I'm pumping for no reason as he won't drink it. We have tried a cup. He doesn't like it but the ladies at nursery have managed to make him drink a bit and they mix it with cereal.
I wasn't too clear about the nursing sessions. He nurses in a morning then when we get home about 5pm he will nurse 3 - 4 times before bed. Bedtime for him is 9pm. He very occasionally wakes at 11pm for another feed.
I don't know how much he takes, all I know is I can't pump more than 4oz. It is usually 2oz that I get.
